Sunday Last Day to Bid on One-of-a-Kind Ruger No. 1

Warrenton, VA-Sunday, October 23 at 9:59 PM-Eastern Time, will be the last minute to bid on the beautifully engraved, Ruger No. 1 Light Sporter in .303 British being auctioned on www.GunBroker.com to support outdoor sports programs for injured and wounded military servicemen and -women.

Donated by Sturm, Ruger and Co., Inc. with custom designed, patriotic-themed, gold-filled engraving by the artists at Baron Engraving, the Ruger No. 1 is a highly collectible piece of PVA’s Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund “American Heroes Edition” series of firearms. PVA-ORHF’s mission is to help finance outdoor recreation programs, including hunting and shooting, for the nation’s wounded military heroes.

The Ruger No. 1 is thought by many to be the standard of American-made single-shot rifles. The custom engraving depicts a bust of a proud American Eagle on one side and a soaring eagle superimposed over the Stars and Stripes on the other. “American Heroes Edition – One of One” is engraved on the gun’s belly. The stunning detail on the rifle is overlaid in 24K gold plating.

Chris Chaffin, National PR and Marketing Coordinator for PVA-ORHF, said, “The proceeds from this spectacular rifle will go directly into programs that help our wounded heroes get back on their feet-physically and emotionally. Our outdoor sports programs help these deserving soldiers rehabilitate and heal, let them build support networks, allow them to challenge themselves and discover or re-discover their abilities through outdoor activities, like hunting, shooting and fishing. These programs show our troops that we care about them and appreciate their service and sacrifice. ”

The one-of-a-kind Ruger can be found at www.GunBroker .com by entering 254945748 in the search function. It is part of the Hunting Heritage Trust’s “Treasurers and Traditions” auction.
