CMP Offering Six CMP-Advanced Maintenance Classes

The Civilian Marksmanship Program is pleased to announce six “CMP-AMC” or Advanced Maintenance Class for 2014 for students with strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn how to work on their M1 Garand rifle. AMC classes are limited to 20 students and will be held at the CMP’s Custom Shop in Anniston.
The 2014 AMC class schedule is:
January 31 – February 2 March 28 – 30 June 4 – 6 August 8 – 10 September 26 – 28 November 5 – 7
The three-day class is intended for individuals interested in knowing how the M1 Garand rifle functions in detail, as well as those desiring to know how to properly perform advanced maintenance procedures to their personal rifle(s). The class involves classroom lecture as well as hands-on shop time. Tools will be provided for students to use during the class.
There is a $1,400 fee for the class and includes the CMP Special Rifle that participants will build in the class and three lunches that are provided. The class fee of $400.00 will be charged to the credit card provided approximately 4-5 weeks prior to the class.

Cancellation requests may be submitted by email or phone to the Custom Shop at customshop@thecmp.org or call (256) 835-8455, ext. 1113. Cancellations received at least 30 days prior to the class will receive a full refund. Any cancellation received 29 days or less will receive a 50% refund ($200.00). The balance of the class fee plus applicable taxes and shipping costs for the CMP Special Rifle will be charged to the credit card provided during the class.
The classes are expected to fill quickly and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The 2013 November AMC Class was filled within 2 hours after the announcement. Registration will open on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25th at 9:00AM EST. All registrations must be made through the CMP’s Competition Tracker website. It is highly recommended that individuals register for a Competition Tracker account and have a user name and password (Note: This is not the same log in information as the CMP E-Store or Forum).
