Triton Introduces 260 LTS Pro Bay Boat

Triton 260 LTS Pro Sets New Standard For Bay Boats

Ashland City, Tennessee — Serious saltwater anglers are calling the new 260 LTS PRO from Triton “the ultimate bay boat.” With its radical pad hull design and state-of-the-art fishing features, this spectacular fishing machine sets a new standard in the highly competitive bay boat class.

The new 260 LTS PRO (Light Tackle Series) spans 25 feet 5 inches at the centerline and boasts a roomy 8½-foot beam. It rates for outboards ranging from 250 to 350 hp, and delivers incredible performance with engines in the popular 300 hp class.

“We designed and engineered the 260 LTS PRO from the ground up to outfish and outperform all other boats in its class,” said Triton founder Earl Bentz. “We incorporated a pad bottom at the stern, which greatly enhances the 260’s hole shot, maximizes mid-range and top-end performance, and yields greater fuel economy. We also added a substantial bow flair, which serves the dual purpose of keeping the interior of the boat and its occupants exceptionally dry in rough seas while providing hard-core anglers with a massive front casting deck and unmatched storage capacity for tackle and gear.”

The front deck of the 260 LTS PRO is massive, indeed! The raised nonskid surface provides a stable platform for anglers who cast lures or flies for redfish, snook, trout, stripers, tarpon and other inshore gamefish. It also houses port and starboard rod lockers and two enormous foam insulated center compartments which can be either utilized as dry storage for tackleboxes and other gear or choose one or both as insulated fish boxes – there’s even a macerator pump to grind up organic debris and flush it out of the boat. Other bow features include an anchor locker, trolling motor plug with 6-volt wiring, engine tilt switch, and sleek, integrated LED bow navigation lights. Access to the casting deck from the floor of the boat is made easy with port and starboard steps, one of which holds a convenient midship raw water washdown hose for quick interior cleanup.

The custom fiberglass console of the 260 LTS PRO features a dash panel with room for flush-mounting two 12-inch electronics units, military-spec waterproof switches, full instrumentation, electric trim tab controls, and 10 stainless steel rod holders. There’s a convenient footrest to reduce driver fatigue during those long runs to the fishing grounds, as well as a waterproof storage compartment for cell phones and other necessities. The leaning post has a custom backrest and flip-up bolsters that facilitate either leaning or sitting, and five additional stainless steel rod holders. Two 65-quart Yeti insulated coolers come standard; one is located beneath the leaning post on a custom slide mount, the other sits in front of the console and sports a custom upholstered cushioned lid. A custom fiberglass hardtop is optional; it features a sturdy aluminum frame and a stylish two-tone finish to match the exterior colors of the boat. The top also houses an electronics box for AM/FM and VHF radios, plus four additional rod holders. The rear deck has a fully insulated 60 gallon center live release well and a fully insulated 25 gallon bait well, both with rounded interior corners and maximum aeration and recirculation for keeping bait and game fish alive and healthy. Additionally, four rod holders on the gunwale are strategically positioned for rod storage or trolling, an easy-access utility compartment housing batteries and pumps, and a custom upholstered cushion and wrap-around backrest for additional seating are located on the rear deck. There’s also plenty of elbow room when moving around the interior of the boat because the savvy Triton engineering staff substantially reduced the width of the gunwale rails, thereby freeing up more floor space – a handy feature when battling a big fish. Triton’s famous Res-Q hideaway boarding ladder comes standard, and an optional swim platform is available.

Triton boats are famed for their outstanding performance (Earl Bentz is a former world champion race boat driver), and the new 260 LTS PRO certainly lives up to this heritage. The radical pad-vee hull design offers a smooth, dry ride; awesome acceleration; and blazing-top speeds sure to satisfy the most competitive inshore anglers. With fuel capacity, this spectacular bay boat is ideally suited to all inshore and near-offshore bluewater fishing applications; while it’s exceptionally shallow draft makes it a force to be reckoned with when probing tidal rivers and skinny flats as well.

Triton’s new 260 LTS PRO, like all Triton saltwater boats, features 100% wood-free unibody composite construction with a limited lifetime hull warranty. It is available with a huge menu of options to enable serious anglers to fine-tune the boat to their specific needs.
