Obama Justice Department Reveals Truth About State of the Union Claims

Despite long odds, on Tuesday night, Barack Obama managed to turn in a State of the Union performance that was filled with more theatrical pandering than the event is typically known for.  Once again seeking to capitalize off tragedy by opting for emotional, rather than reasoned arguments, the President reiterated his support for increased background checks and bans on common semi-automatic firearms and their magazines, which he referred to as “weapons of war and massive ammunition magazines.”
As usual, Obama’s remarks were short on evidence that his gun control proposals would work.  Of course, that evidence is sorely lacking–and who would know that better than the experts at his own Justice Department? Read more

NWTF, Outdoor Celebs Visit Troops Overseas

This just in:  Unrest cancels Outdoor Legends Tour….late news yesterday that the portions of the Paralyzed Veterans of America/Armed Forces Entertainment Outdoor Legends Tour scheduled to visit servicemen at bases in Southeast Asia has been postponed. We’re told the situation in Afghanistan with the protests over the burning of Qurans made the trip too-dangerous. The non-Afghanistan portion of the trip is proceeding.

EDGEFIELD, S.C. – NWTF has partnered with Armed Forces Entertainment and Paralyzed Veterans of America’s Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund to participate in the first Outdoor Legends Tour.   NWTF CEO George C. Thornton, NWTF spokespersons Brenda Valentine and Michael Waddell, NWTF Foundation Board member Ryan Klesko and a number of other famous outdoorsmen will tour Europe and Southwest Asia military bases this spring to visit active-duty United States military personnel. Michigan Teacher is NWTF’s Teacher of Year

EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Third-grade teacher Janine Kopera was merely looking for some lesson ideas to tie in with Thanksgiving when she stumbled upon the NWTF’s web site.

Eight years later, the Melvindale, Mich., teacher is renowned for successfully teaching her suburban students about conservation through an educational unit she built around the NWTF’s Wild About Turkey Education Box.

In recognition of her efforts, the NWTF selected Kopera as the NWTF’s 2011 Educator of the Year. Kopera also won the NWTF’s Educator of the Year Award for Michigan. She is a former Wayne County Elementary Teacher of the Year. Read more
