I agree that the Nikon Prostaff scopes provide good bang for the buck and lots of people are using them for this reason. Unless one hunts in low-light conditions – as in deer hunting – the need to step up to better glass is not necessary.

I think Nikon Prostaff products are some of the best in their price range.
