Michigan DNR Has Clay Throwers Available at Ranges

The DNR shooting ranges will have clay throwers available on Sundays in June. The ranges are open Thursday-Monday. The Ortonville and Pontiac Lake ranges are open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and the Rose Lake and Sharonville ranges are open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The DNR will temporarily close portions of the Rose Lake shooting range to construct a new handgun range, starting June 11. During construction, the rifle and pistol area will be closed on weekdays and open on Saturdays and Sundays. The archery and hand trap area will remain open on regularly scheduled days. Work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, July 12. The new range will feature five covered, accessible stations where visitors can shoot their handguns at 10 yards.
