Youth rabbit hunt offered in Ingham County March 29

The Ingham Conservation District, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, will host its first annual youth rabbit hunt Saturday, March 29, from 10:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m.

Licensed hunters ages 17 and younger are invited to take part in this mentored rabbit hunt. Mentors will accompany small groups of two or three youth hunters. A parent or legal guardian is required to remain with each child during the event.

Participants will meet at the Ingham Conservation District office at 1031 W. Dexter Trail in Mason and will travel to hunting sites at the Dansville State Game Area, Ingham Conservation District lands and other local sites selected by mentors.

Single-shot or pump shotguns will be permitted for the hunt. No semi-automatic guns will be allowed. Those in need of an appropriate firearm in order to participate may contact the Ingham Conservation District at 517-676-2290.

A late lunch will be served after the hunt and raffle prizes will be awarded to hunt participants. Registration is available at www.inghamconservation.com/events. This event is free of charge.
