LINCOLN, Nebraska – In celebration of the recent bear hunting victory in Maine, Powderhook has joined with partner U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance and sponsors Horseshoe Hill Outfitters ,Families Afield, Wide Open Spaces and ScoutLook to offer a black bear hunt package giveaway valued at $3,000.
“We thought this was a great time to offer a bear hunt in announcing our partnership with US Sportsmen’s Alliance,” says Powderhook CEO Eric Dinger. “The victory in Maine over the anti-hunting movement lead by HSUS (The Humane Society of the United States) sends a strong message that hunters will not be pushed around by a group like HSUS who’s intentions are not only to shut down bear hunting in Maine, but hunting and animal agriculture across the board.”
US Sportsmen’s Alliance has been at the forefront of the fight to protect hunting, fishing and trapping opportunities across the country for nearly four decades. Powderhook, the Nebraska based startup looking to solve what the industry terms “the access problem” is a natural fit with US Sportsmen’s Alliance. Dinger says, “One of the greatest threats to outdoorsmen is the perceived lack of access to hunting and fishing spots. Through our technology, we offer over 500,000 public hunting and fishing locations on our website. This partnership is an acknowledgment that we plan to work together to solve the problem.”
The US Fish and Wildlife Service states 49% of individuals would hunt or fish more often if they had better access. Public land listings on Powderhook cover nearly 700 million acres in the United States, with more public and private opportunities added daily.
One lucky winner receives a 5-day Spring Black Bear Hunt, hunting over bait in Quebec, Canada. Lodging, meals, guide, transportation to and from stands and unlimited fishing are included. The winner must simply get to Quebec. This hunt is valid for the 2015 hunting season.
