ShotLock Introduces New Electromechanical Locks for Shotgun & Handgun Solo-Vaults

Sedro Woolley, WA- ShotLock, manufacturer of the ShotLock Solo-Vault line of individual home defense gun safes for the Shotgun, Handgun, CCW and AR platforms, announced today the release of its new Electromechanical Lock, the 200E, available for both the Shotgun and Handgun models.

The 200E follows the recently launched 200M mechanical version, which was released in November ’14 for both the Handgun and the Shotgun Models. Much like the 200M, the 200E boasts additional key features that elevate this lock over other electromechanical locks in this category. Key components include: A key override (with 3 keys provided), a tamper proof lock clutch mechanism, increased 10-digit combinations (1.2 million), reprogrammable operation directly from the face of the lock, sleek and efficient 5-button function, low battery indicator and an emergency battery backup feature which can be used to temporarily power the unit back on allowing you to use your combination to open the ShotLock and change the internal batteries in case you ignored it’s warnings.

“2014 presented some challenges for us with this product.” said Sales & Marketing Director Don Fenton. “There is a great demand for these products and our growth curve backs that up. We simply reached a point where our lock manufacturer could not supply our product demands. For this reason, combined with customer feedback, we made the decision to develop our own locks, and to make them better. It’s been a learning experience for sure but one that we, and the product, are the better for.”

The electromechanical locks have been in development for over a year, and were designed specifically for the ShotLock product. The end result is a lock that is more durable, simple to use, and possesses features that add value to the end user. “We were receiving increasing requests for an electronic version of our ShotLock products and we realized these types of locks offer some unique advantages over their mechanical counterparts.” said Ryan Thornburg, Sales Coordinator. “The end result is a product that is very easy to use, while maintaining the level of security and quality that the ShotLock brand has become known for.”
