Boone and Crockett, DSC: ?Preferred Conservation Partners?
DALLAS (Jan. 6, 2012)?Two of the world?s premier clubs for hunter-conservationists, Dallas Safari Club (DSC) and Boone and Crockett Club, have announced a new strategic alliance as ?Preferred Conservation Partners.?
The announcement was made during the DSC convention and expo, Jan. 5-8, 2012, in Dallas.
By combining the strengths of their unique memberships and resources, the clubs hope to more effectively sustain the integrity, ethics, stewardship and leadership that made sportsmen the first worldwide voice for conservation. Of specific interest is promoting today?s best practices in conservation, wildlife management, public and youth education, hunter advocacy and fair chase.
Ben Carter, DSC executive director, said, ?We?re excited to strengthen the ties between DSC and Boone and Crockett because working together will allow us to achieve even more for healthy habitat, abundant wildlife populations and hunting in North America and around the globe.?
Boone and Crockett Club President Ben Wallace said, ?Coalition building has been a strategic imperative ever since our organization was founded by Theodore Roosevelt. Much of what we continue to accomplish for conservation today is because of the strength of our partnerships. I see great things on the horizon for wildlife, their habitats, and the traditions of hunting through this new level of cooperation with DSC.?
Over the past year, DSC has announced ?Preferred Conservation Partner? alliances with the Professional Hunter?s Association of South Africa, Alaska Professional Hunters Association, and the Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia.
An agreement identifies cross-promotional opportunities for both organizations in coming years.
