On April 27, 2011, north Mississippi and Alabama were hit with a number of devastating tornadoes. Hundreds of lives were lost, entire communities destroyed and many people lost everything. Mossy Oak quickly began selling specially-designed, tornado relief t-shirts with 100% of the sales going to the Red Cross. After selling out in a week, Mossy Oak was able to give $10,000 to the Red Cross to aid in relief efforts for those tornado victims.
“We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our efforts to help those in need as a result of the tornado outbreak this spring,” said
Carey Sizemore, divisional merchandise manager for Mossy Oak. “It is because of everyone’s generosity that we were able to make this generous donation to the American Red Cross to aid in their relief efforts.”
“We appreciate Mossy Oak for their support and are grateful for them recognizing the needs of so many and wanting to help out,” said Sue Womack, director of the local Red Cross in West Point, Miss.
Pivotal Partners of Alabama, a company that printed the t-shirt design, worked with Mossy Oak to make the fund raiser successful.
