Gun Registration Coming to California Unless Governor Acts
Time is Running Out For Sportsmen to Ask Governor Jerry Brown to Veto Gun Registry Bill!

California Assembly Bill 809, introduced by Assemblyman Mike Feuer (D- Los Angeles), was recently passed by the California legislature. The bill, which requires gun owners to register all firearm purchases and transfers with the state, is still awaiting action by the Governor.
Governor Brown must veto AB 809 by October 10th or this new gun registry bill will become law! There are only a few days left for your voice to be heard. Call Governor Brown today at (916) 445-2841 and ask him to veto Assembly Bill 809.
“Sportsmen and gun owners need to take this last chance to call Governor Brown and ask him to protect their rights,” said Jeremy Rine, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance associate director of state services. “The only way Governor Brown can do that is to veto the bill. Simply letting it become law without his signature does nothing to protect your privacy and gun rights.”
Currently, California law requires persons who purchase or transfer a handgun to permanently register the gun with the state. These gun owners are required to provide personal information that includes: name, address, place of birth, telephone number, and occupation. The law also requires gun owners to provide a detailed description of the handgun and the gun’s serial number.
If passed, AB 809 would apply the handgun registration requirements to all firearms, including rifles and shotguns commonly used by sportsmen for hunting and recreational shooting.
Take Action! California sportsmen should contact Governor Jerry Brown today at (916) 445-2841 and ask him to veto Assembly Bill 809. Hunters and gun owners across the state should encourage their friends, family and other sportsmen and gun owners to do the same to protect their rights.
