New Rapala Outerwear Keeps Anglers Dry and Comfortable
Minnetonka, Minnesota – Rain, rain, go away? Nah. Let it rain!
When the sprinkles start, zip into the new Rapala RAIN suit and hit the water without worry of getting wet. Both waterproof and breathable, Rapala RAIN outwear is exceptionally crafted, using premium materials, and is fitted for comfort.
“When your drive to work is a highway of water, you need outerwear you can count on day after day, week after week, year after year,” says Tony Roach, an in-demand fishing guide on Minnesota’s Mille Lacs Lake. “With superior gear, from a legendary name you can trust, you can weather the storm, be it rain, boat spray, wind and – if you’re unlucky enough – even snow.”
Roach is among a cohort of high-profile anglers across the Upper Midwest who will fish comfortably in inclement weather this season outfitted in Rapala RAIN gear, including outdoor-television hosts James Holst, Travis Frank and Kurt Walbeck, from In-Depth Outdoors, Minnesota Bound and Outdoor Bound, respectively. Each is accustomed to hitting the water in unforgiving conditions.
“Whether you’re putting clients on fish day-in, day-out, fishing a tournament, filming a fishing show, or just out fun-fishing on one of the precious few weekends your hectic schedule has an opening between kids’ activities and projects around the house, you don’t always get to choose the weather when you’re on the water,” Roach says. “So these new Rapala RAIN suits are exactly what we need to ensure we can enjoy our time on the water to stay dry and comfortable.”
Boasting exceptional water-repellency and breathability, Rapala RAIN jackets and bibs, offered in a red-and-gray color scheme, are built for all-day wear, comfort and long-lasting waterproof durability in stormy conditions. Rapala RAIN Pro jacket and bibs, offered in a gray-and-black color scheme, are built with even higher performance expectations, combining advanced water-repellency and breathability tech to excel in even more extreme conditions.
Both Rapala RAIN and Rapala RAIN Pro jacket-and-bib combos repel precipitation while allowing moisture and vapor to escape. Both are available in seven sizes – XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL – and feature sealed seams, premium YKK zippers and reflective Rapala logos.
Rapala RAIN suits feature two-layer, mid-weight-fabric construction (5,000 mm), comprising 100-percent polyester Oxford and 100-percent polyester Honey Taslan shells and a 100-percent polyester mesh lining. Providing maximum protection, durability and comfort, Rapala RAIN Pro suits feature 3-layer, heavy-duty construction (8,000 mm) – an outer layer of DWR-treated fabric, a mid-layer of breathable membrane and an inner layer of polyurethane. Rapala RAIN Pro shells comprise 100-percent nylon Honey Taslan and 100-percent nylon Ripstop Taslan. The latter strengthens the fabric and prevents tears.
Rapala RAIN and Rapala RAIN Pro jackets share several features: adjustable drawstrings; a two-way hood, waist and opening; an outer chest zip pocket with attached microfiber cloth; two D-rings; a magnetic flap on the main zipper; two lined, hand-warming outer zip pockets; and adjustable hook-and-loop cuffs. The Rapala RAIN Pro jacket has two interior pouch pockets, and the Rapala RAIN jacket has three interior pockets – one zip, two pouch.
Rapala RAIN and Rapala RAIN Pro bibs share several features: adjustable suspenders; adjustable waist; two lined, hand-warming outer chest pockets; two outer, cargo-style leg pockets; one interior pouch pocket; two D-rings; magnetic flap on main zipper; zip-to-knee side zippers; and adjustable hook-and-loop cuffs with single snap-up-hem.
