The total economic impact of the firearm and ammunition industry in the United States increased from $19.1 billion in 2008 to $90.05 billion in 2023, a 371 percent increase, while the total number of full-time equivalent jobs rose from approximately 166,000 to over 384,437, a 131 percent increase in that period, according to a report released by the NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has announced it will be hosting several informative Steyr firearm courses in April, all available at the Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama.

Fares Abdo Al Eyani, 41, of Oakland, California, was sentenced to 12 months and a day in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for conspiring to export defense articles and attempting to export defense articles.
“Mr. Al Eyani admitted to conspiring to smuggle restricted arms, ammunition, and other defense material to a foreign country and has now been held to account,” said Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division. “The unlawful trafficking of U.S. weapons overseas represents a threat to public safety and national security and will be met with the full force of the Justice Department.” Read more

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team earned its first-ever Division II national championship title at the Association of College Unions International and Scholastic Clay Target Program National Championship in San Antonio. The 16-person team competed in Division II against 19 other programs and earned multiple individual and team awards.
“The team had a truly dominant performance, arguably the best in our history,” said Hillsdale College Shotgun Team Head Coach Jordan Hintz. “Our shooters have worked hard all season, and it has paid off.”
