SMYRNA, Ga. – GLOCK, Inc., a global leader in firearm manufacturing, was awarded a contract to supply U.S. Customs and Border Protection with the newest generation of GLOCK pistols after an extensive solicitation process.

With more than 45,000 sworn agents and officers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection controls and protects the nation’s borders and has operations at over 330 ports of entry.

The contract calls for the replacement of existing .40 caliber duty handguns with 9X19 GLOCK pistols by 2021. Duty weapons will be replaced for CBP law enforcement personnel and additional Department of Homeland Security units which have chosen to purchase through the contract. Read more

“The first patent (No. 9,530,266) established the use of RFID technology in a firearm storage device while the second patent (No. 10,233,687) strengthens the company’s claims on the first.” said Tom Delattre, Hornady Security Products Coordinator. Additional patents are pending.

Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) uses electromagnetic fields to securely communicate between readers and tags attached to objects. Hornady began incorporating RFID in lock boxes in 2013.

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) proudly introduces four new Target models to the Ruger American® Rimfire family. Constructed from stainless steel for superior aesthetics and corrosion resistance, all four rifles live up to Ruger’s reputation for accuracy and rugged reliability.

Each of these new rifles feature a satin, 416 stainless steel barrel, bolt and receiver. The 18″ cold hammer-forged barrel is finished with a 1/2″-28 threaded muzzle and an 11-degree target crown. The contrasting black thread protector, bolt release and one-piece scope base compliment the Target model’s hallmark black laminate stock.

Three of these new models boast an attractive target stock with an Alexander Henry forend which helps to stabilize the rifle when shooting from sticks. This stock also features a metal trigger guard, rubber buttpad and front and rear swivel studs for easy attachment of bipod or sling.
