CAMP PERRY, Ohio; ANNISTON, Ala. – As we ring in the New Year, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) looks forward to welcoming competitors each month at our indoor air gun ranges. A full lineup for the CMP Monthly Matches, featuring a series of air rifle and air pistol events, is scheduled for 2021. The Monthly Matches are open to the public and designed for all ages and experience levels.

The CMP Monthly Matches are held at both CMP Competition Centers (located in Anniston, Alabama, and at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Facility in Port Clinton, Ohio). Both facilities are equipped with 80 electronic targets which allow competitors to view their shots instantly on the monitor at their firing point. Since spectators are limited at this time (one coach/parent allowed for each competitor), the CMP’s innovative technology allows anyone to view targets in real time on our website (https://thecmp.org/competitions/live-targets/). NORTH HAVEN, CT – Mossberg’s newest autoloader, the 940 JM Pro competition shotgun, has been recognized as the 2021 Shooting Illustrated Shotgun of the Year, presented by the National Rifle Association (NRA) Publications. Now in their 19th year, the NRA Publications Golden Bullseye Awards acknowledge the finest products available in the shooting sports and this year’s winners will be honored during the 2021 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Houston, Texas.

Golden Bullseye Award winners are selected by a seven-member committee of editors, graphic designers and veteran members of the NRA publications staff, representing more than a century of collective experience in the shooting and hunting industry. To qualify for consideration, a product must have been recently introduced and available to consumers; used or tested by a staff member or regular contributor to the magazine; reliable, innovative and meeting or exceeding the evaluator’s expectation. Completing the criteria for award selection are the perceived value of the product to the purchaser and that the product is styled in a manner befitting the shooting and hunting industry, and its enthusiasts.

The result of two years of development alongside world champion shooters, Jerry and Lena Miculek, the Mossberg 940 JM Pro was designed with the needs of today’s competitive shooter in mind. At the core of this competition-ready 12 gauge is a durable gas system that will run for many rounds before cleaning and reliably cycle 2 ¾ or 3-inch shells. Key features include an enlarged loading port to allow quad loads into the magazine tube; redesigned elevator and shell catch to eliminate common pinch-points; slim profile forend and user-configurable stock for length-of-pull, drop and cast; HIVIZ® fiber optic sight system; and extended Briley® choke tubes. WESTFIELD, Massachusetts –– Savage Arms announces the new standard for hog guns: IMPULSE Hog Hunter. This straight-pull rifle is purpose built for thinning out wild boar. Hogs rarely appear alone, and the speed of the IMPULSE Hog Hunter’s straight-pull action and its exceptional balance will allow hunters to get back on target fast.

“Hunting hogs with a conventional bolt action rifle is highly effective, but when there is a large drove of pigs to clear out, the ability to take multiple shots is critical,” Jessica Treglia, Sr. Brand Manager at Savage Arms, said. “These new IMPULSE Hog Hunters will allow you to cycle the bolt with lightning-fast precision, stay on target without losing your sight picture, and the compact design is perfect for carrying in the dense brush hogs use for cover.”

Kansas City, KS – The speed, precision and dynamic performance afforded by CZ-USA’s handguns have made it the leading name for practical shooting disciplines like IPSC, USPSA, 3-Gun and Steel Challenge, a position CZ is not planning to yield any time soon.

The sport-shooting world reveres the CZ Tactical Sport for its crisp single-action trigger and long sight radius. Now, the pistol has evolved into the Tactical Sport 2 (TS2), a brand-new, built-from-the-ground-up firearm that represents the next generation in tactical sport pistols.

The TS2 was designed and built for competition shooters in the tradition of the company’s highly successful Shadow 2, mimicking its slide profile with the reciprocating weight positioned as low as possible for smoother operation, less muzzle flip and faster follow-up shots. Additionally, the TS2’s redesigned frame and improved ergonomics also reduce muzzle flip so that it’s less noticeable than ever. Read more
