USA Shooting Launches RAISE THE FLAG Campaign as part of 2020 Vision

Chairman’s Challenge Underway to Ensure Competitive Opportunities for America’s Shooting Team

With exactly 15 months until the 2020 Olympic Games get underway in Tokyo, Japan, USA Shooting is launching the RAISE THE FLAG campaign. The campaign will serve as the motivational driver used to pursue all available resources and sharpen the organizational vision on the mission of getting athletes on the podium and seeing that American flag raised in competition.

The key element of the campaign is the Chairman’s Challenge being initiated by USA Shooting Board Chairman Chad Whittenburg, in what he describes as a true sense of urgency and directed passion.The USA Shooting Board of Directors recently voted to fund all athletes qualifying for World Cup events in 2019, a decision that means the organization needs to raise $200,000 to support that effort. Previously, athletes were only allowed to compete if they had achieved a Performance Standard Score (PSS), which was the average score needed to make a World Cup Final. With the start of the Beijing World Cup Tuesday, USA Shooting is fielding complete teams across all disciplines for the first time since before 2016. Read more

Company to invest $90M, create 565 jobs over six years

LITTLE ROCK, AR) – CZ-USA, the U.S.-based affiliate of Czech firearms manufacturer ?eská zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod (CZUB), announced today plans to locate their North American Headquarters and build a new manufacturing facility on approximately 73 acres at the Port of Little Rock. CZ-USA plans to implement a two-phase approach with an investment of up to $90 million and create some 565 jobs over a six-year period. CZ products are considered some of the highest-quality firearms in defense, competition and sport shooting around the world.

“As CZ looked to increase our presence in North America, it engaged in a multi-state search for the ideal location,” said Bogdan Heczko, CZ-USA chairman of the board. “The Arkansas workforce, culture, business climate and industry support cleared the way for us to choose Little Rock as our new home.”

In 2018, the Czech Republic imported some $2.6 million in commodities into Arkansas, and Arkansas exports to the country totaled roughly $8.2 million.Nearly 160 foreign-owned companies have some 300 operations in the state; however, CZ-USA is the first Czech company to have a presence in Arkansas.
