BESSEMER, Ala. — Last month at SHOT Show, Steyr Arms USA CEO Scott O’Brien unveiled the company’s newest and boldest plan for the American market, the Steyr Elite Experience. Based on the foundation of four pillars of performance—a limited lifetime warranty, a sub-minute-of-angle guarantee on all bolt-action rifles, free world-class training for buyers of almost every Steyr rifle and a host of elite VIP privileges—Steyr Arms USA is proving that the experience of buying a Steyr firearm doesn’t end at the cash register; it is just beginning.

The key takeaway from O’Brien’s presentation to an overflow crowd was the company’s promise to provide world-class two-day training to each and every purchaser of the company’s centerfire rifles with an MSRP of above $1,250 in 2019. This free two-day training course is hosted by world-class trainers as part of the Steyr Arms Academy. There are currently three Precision Rifle Courses, an AUG Carbine Course, a Scout Rifle Course, a Precision Hunter Course, and a course for the HS .50/.460, all of which are being taught at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park.

“Our limited lifetime warranty and our long-standing sub-MOA guarantee aren’t really anything new to the industry,” said O’Brien. “But our complimentary training is what truly sets us apart. This training gives you the confidence in your abilities and will assure you that you made the best purchase of the most accurate and reliable firearms ever made.” Read more

SIG SAUER, Inc. is pleased to announce the newest addition to the MCX family, the MCX Rattler Canebrake is now shipping and available in retail stores.

The MCX Rattler Canebrake comes as a suppressor ready platform with an SD handguard and inert training device that mimics the size and weight of the SIGSRD762 suppressor, and assures all muzzle flash is past the shooter’s hand when reaching out on the handguard during operation without a functional suppressor installed. With the MCX Rattler Canebrake there’s no need for the purchase of a shorter barrel kit and SD Handguard to have a suppressed MCX system, simply unthread the inert training device, install your suppressor, and select the appropriate gas setting for your ammunition.

Additional features of the MCX Rattler Canebrake include a 2-stage flat-blade match trigger, Cerakote E190 finished upper and lower, a folding coyote-tan PCB, and comes with one 30-round polymer 300blk Magpul™ magazine. Read more

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) has partnered with the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) to produce two new firearms safety videos starring McGruff The Crime Dog® and his nephew Scruff® to help teach young children how to react should they see an unsecured firearm.

The new ‘McGruff Gun Safety’ videos deliver the compelling message of “Stop! Don’t touch! Get away! Tell an adult!” so that children immediately know what to do in a situation where a gun is unattended, or if a classmate brings a gun on to school grounds, or finds a gun at home to show friends.

The videos, created by Danger Pigeon Studios, use animated characters to hold the interest of young children. They deliver their important gun safety messages in approximately 120 seconds. The video titled “Molly’s Mischief” is designed for viewing by children in kindergarten through 2nd grades, and “Not Cool, Kyle” is for students in grades 2 through 6. Read more

.22LR Chambering Expands Shooting Time While Lowering Ammo Costs

Colona, IL – Rock River Arms, the industry’s most respected name in Modern Sporting Rifles and pistols, has just introduced a new line of firearms to the RRA family. Intended to provide shooters more training and range time with the AR platform at a significantly lower cost, the new LAR-22 series rifles are chambered in .22LR, giving shooters a higher-volume, lower-price alternative to more expensive 5.56/.223 ammunition for practice and general recreation shooting.

Three variants of the LAR-22 rifles are currently offered—the Tactical Carbine, Mid A4, and the NM A4 CMP Trainer.

Tactical Carbine – For those who favor an MSR with a free-float barrel and handguard configuration, the LAR-22 Tactical Carbine is an optimal choice for tactical training or target plinking. Select between a forged aluminum upper and lower receiver set or RRA’s own polymer upper and lower receiver set for a lower-cost option. Both rifles feature the RRA NSP-2 six-position CAR stock, Hogue rubber grip, two-stage trigger, and 11-inch extended M-LOK compatible lightweight free-float handguard shrouding a 16-inch chrome moly barrel. DELRAY BEACH, Florida — Century Arms, North America’s premier AK manufacturer, is proud to announce their new heavy duty AK rifle, the VSKA, is now backed with a Lifetime Warranty.

Announced in October 2018, the 2019 VSKA (vis-kuh) from Century Arms represents the latest in an American-built AK rifle. Critical components are machined from S7 tool steel, including the bolt carrier, front trunnion and feed ramp, all heat-treated for maximum durability. S7, often referred to as a “Shock-Resisting Tool Steel,” is commonly used for tools like chisels and jackhammer tips as it has maximum shock resistance and high compression strength, while retaining toughness. The front trunnion and bolt are machined from billet and exceeded the durability goals for the project. Additionally, the VSKA features a nitro-carburized 4140 steel bolt, a chrome-moly 4150 barrel, and sports the RAK-1 Enhanced Trigger Group for an impressive trigger pull. Along with a magnesium-phosphate finish, Century adds a little style to the heavy-duty brute with an American Maple wood buttstock and forend.

Each VSKA ships with one 30-round standard-capacity magazine and has an MSRP of $735.95.

Gainesville, GA – If you are serious about improving your long-range shooting abilities-and we know you are!

You need to incorporate the Ballistic Edge into your long-range shooting.

What is the Ballistic Edge?

It starts with the world-renowned JBM ballistic engine which calculates all Ballistic’s shooting solutions. No wonder Ballistic is used by competition shooters, long-range hunters, and the military to deliver the most precise calculations possible.

The Ballistic Edge is further enhanced by the data in the huge Ballistic Library, home to over 5,400 projectiles and factory loads. The Library is updated regularly to include new offerings.

The Library and the JBM ballistics engine go to work the second a shooter begins to build his or her own Ballistic Bullet Profile. That Profile contains the basic inputs–including the manufacturer’s ballistic coefficient and bullet weight, sight height, and muzzle velocity, to name just a few-plus the all-important atmospheric conditions.
