Be Prepared for Upcoming Season With Blaser R8 Professional S

Six decades ago Blaser Jagdwaffen GmbH set out to redefine the art of gun making. Along the way they have laid milestones to mark their success with such names as the Diplomat, ES67, SR850, K95, R93, S2, F3 and the list continues. Never willing to be second best, the design philosophy at the heart of all models is safety, accuracy, reliability and versatility.

The way forward is often started with a close examination of the past and how we were able to come so far. We examined our existing product portfolio and came to the conclusion we needed to pay homage to the rifle that helped redefine the modern bolt action. The R93 was the straight pull action that started the revolution. Now it only makes sense that we pay tribute to the original and introduce the R8 Professional S into our current portfolio. Built for pure performance; when a split second defines a hunt.

The new R8 Professional S will share many of the features that exist in our current R8 line with the exception of removable trigger/magazine housing. The new R8 Professional S is loaded or unloaded through the ejection port just as the original R93. Sure handling is assured with the elastomer inlays featured in the traditional brown/black stock. All existing barrels, bolt assemblies and scope mounts will function flawlessly in the new platform.

With an introductory price of $2,895 your biggest concern will be where to put your next trophy. Available in calibers from 222 Remington to 375 H&H (standard taper) the time is now! Read more

Steyr’s SSG Carbon Is Now Available in the U.S.

BESSEMER, Ala. (July 21, 2015) — Steyr Arms has announced that its newest SSG rifle—wearing an advanced carbon-fiber stock—has landed in America. Initially introduced at the 2014 SHOT Show, the exceptionally accurate, innovative and moderately-priced SSG Carbon rifle was met with an unprecedented number of orders from the law enforcement community that took the last 16 months to fill, but the latest shipment of rifles now makes the SSG Carbon available throughout the U.S.

Unlike conventional carbon-fiber stocks made from woven carbon fabric that often suffer from side-strike structural failures, the SSG Carbon’s stock is made using the same “chipped-carbon” Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) construction used to create load-bearing structures in Formula 1 racecars and high-performance aircraft. The SSG Carbon’s chipped-carbon flakes combine thermally with the binding agent to form the SMC for a distinctive appearance to the stock, but like the spirals on the rifle’s cold-hammer-forged barrel, they aren’t just there for looks. The carbon chips interlock with each other to create an unparalleled tension net that is superior to steel in every direction, yet weighing a fraction of steel and aluminum. Read more

SAF Rips Obama Plan to Strip Millions of Gun Rights

BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation today responded to published reports that the Obama administration is pushing to prevent citizens collecting Social Security benefits from owning guns if they have problems managing their own affairs as proof the president wants to strip as many people as possible of their Second Amendment rights while he remains in office.

“This could possibly disqualify millions of people from owning firearms and might prevent many others from seeking help,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, himself a U.S. Army veteran. “It’s unconscionable that someone who might have problems balancing a checkbook or managing their finances would suddenly find himself or herself stripped of their right to keep and bear arms.” Read more
