UTG’s New Handgun Scope Hits the Market

Built on the tried and true TS™ platform, the 2 to 7 power SCP-27PRGW is designed for those wanting to push their handguns to the limit. Granting an awesome 7 power maximum magnification and a generous eye relief of 13.8 to 25 inches, even tall shooters can zero in on their target while maintaining a comfortable shooting posture. UTG’s new PDC (Projectile Drop Compensation) reticle makes its debut in this optic and it can be illuminated in either red or green along with the standard black view. Parallax pre-set at 35 yards, the scope’s PDC reticle allows users to accurately gauge the correct hold-over based on distance and ammunition ballistics. You can easily adjust the windage/elevation of your scope with a click value of 1/4” @ 100 yards and never get tired since this optic only weighs in at 14oz. Designed and tested to withstand the recoil of heavy revolver loads, UTG has added an additional security feature, allowing the eyepiece to be secured with its own locking ring. Regardless if your purpose is target shooting or hunting, you will be amazed by this scope’s clarity resulting from Emerald multi-coated high quality glass. As you have come to expect, UTG always delivers a complete package, and this new optic is no exception. Weatherby’s® new PA-459™ TR 8-Shot pump and SA-459™ TR 8-Shot semi-auto shotguns feature a magazine capacity of seven 2 ¾-inch shells (plus one in chamber), providing an extra measure of assurance for personal/home defense situations as well as more firepower for three-gun and other competitive shooting events.

The PA-459 TR 8-Shot comes in black synthetic, Proveil® Reaper™ Black pattern or universal digital camouflage pattern. The SA-459 TR 8-Shot is available in black synthetic.

“Our PA-459 TR and SA-459 TR shotguns are designed for threat response in close quarters and home defense scenarios, and with the larger magazine capacity, they become an even better option for three-gun competitors,” said Adam Weatherby, executive vice president/chief operating officer. “Because dependability is so important for these shotguns, they are endurance tested and field proven in accordance with our rigorous standards.”

Available in 12 gauge, the PA-459 TR 8-Shot has an ergonomic pistol grip-style buttstock and short
13 ½-inch length of pull quick, snag-free target acquisition. Other key features include a lightweight injection-molded stock, and a matte black finish on all metalwork to reduce glare. Picatinny rails on the bottom of the forearm and on top of the receiver allow mounting of optics, sights or lights.

The shotgun’s 18 ½-inch barrel is chrome lined to withstand years of high-volume shooting. It has a screw-in cylinder bore choke. The barrel has a winged fiber optic front sight for quick target acquisition. A rear LPA-style ghost ring sight is adjustable for windage and elevation.

Located ahead of the trigger guard, an extended and enlarged slide release allows quick and dependable function of the action. The oversized release makes it easy to find by feel, even in the dark. Constructed of aircraft-grade alloys to reduce overall weight without compromising strength, the CNC-machined receiver is designed to improve the balance of the shotgun for better handling. All PA-459 TR 8-Shot models are 922R compliant.

The SA-459 TR 8-Shot is also 922R compliant, and comes in 12 gauge with an 18 ½-inch chrome-lined barrel with a screw-in cylinder bore choke and three-inch chamber. It also features a tactical ghost ring rear sight and fiber optic front sight.

An oversized bolt handle is easy to locate and operate. The forend features a forward-mounted Picatinny rail for accessories and a ribbed surface for enhanced grip control.

With three-inch Magnum shells, the PA-459 TR 8-Shot and SA-459 TR 8-Shot have a magazine capacity of six plus one in chamber. Both weigh 6.5 pounds. Swivel studs are included.

ATI Introduces New TactLite AR-15 Stock

Milwaukee, WI – Advanced Technology International® (ATI), a leading manufacturer of U.S. made firearm accessories, has introduced a new lightweight stock for the AR-15 platform.

ATI’s new TactLite AR-15 stock aims to be far more than one of the lightest AR-15 stocks on the market, weighing in at 5.85 oz. The Wisconsin company plans on their proprietary innovation to set the TactLite stock apart from their competitors in the crowded AR-15 accessory market.

“The TactLite stock boasts an industry first constant inner diameter throughout the length of the stock, with versions available for both military and commercial spec rifles” said Jon Shaffer, Director of Business Development. This innovative design feature reduces any movement of the buffer tube in the stock system. “The Buffer Tube is also fixed between a slide mechanism comprised of a material with an extremely low coefficient of friction, which provides a secure and tight fit with minimal resistance.” While the movement of the buffer tube is removed in all positions by the constant inner diameter of the stock, the low resistance slide assembly places constant pressure on the buffer in an upward, and side to side direction eliminating any existing movement of the buffer tube in the stock. The low coefficient of friction material allows for smooth, yet firm adjustments to the length of pull when the adjustment lever is depressed. Read more

Bergara Introduces Its New “premium Action”

BERGARA will debut its new Bergara Premium Action at the SHOT Show. As an OEM barrel supplier to several top firearms makers in the USA and Europe, this action will be a natural for Bergara’s barrel customers who are also looking for high quality actions.

“The design is the culmination of several years of joint collaboration between Bergara’s engineers, technical managers and our custom rifle builders,” said Mark Hendricks, Bergara’s Vice President of Technical Development, who headed up the design team. “And while we have used and shot several other extremely well-built and reputable actions,” Hendricks explains, “no single one of them had every feature that we felt was needed to meet all of the requirements and desires of premium rifle shooters.”

The Bergara Premium Action is based on a Remington footprint and accepts all Remington compatible triggers. Constructed in the USA of 4140 CrMo Steel, it is available in both long and short actions and weighs in at 1.0 lbs. and 1.1 lbs. respectively.

Bergara Expands Rifle Offering

Bergara, best known for the premium quality barrels it produces for several of the world’s top rifle brands, entered the rifle market two years ago with its own line of Bergara Custom Rifles and quickly established a strong reputation for quality and accuracy. At this year’s SHOT Show, Bergara will introduce two new product lines of production rifles, designed to take the brand into more affordable price points. Bergara has dubbed these new lines as “Premier” and “Performance” and, in combination with the existing Custom offering, will give the brand a “good – better – best” product segmentation.

“The Premier Rifles are very comparable to Bergara’s Custom Rifles, but we were able to get them into the middle price points by standardizing some features and dimensions, thereby allowing greater efficiencies in parts production and assembly,” stated Mark Hendricks, Bergara’s Vice President of Technical Development. These guns will still feature the new Bergara Premium Action, which Hendricks designed, coupled with the famous Bergara barrel, just like the Custom models. Both a tactical model (BPR 17) and a hunting model (BPR 16) will be included in the initial introduction. All Premier Rifles are built in the USA at the Bergara USA facility. Retail price points will likely range between $1,500 and $2,000, according to Hendricks.

Bergara’s Performance line is targeted more toward the mass market with retail price points under $1,000. The first introduction will be the B-14 model bolt-action hunting rifle. This rifle is built entirely at Bergara’s barrel factory in Spain and will be distributed in both Europe and the USA. The Bergara barrel is complemented by a super-smooth action which is based on the Remington 700 design. Stocks are available in both a classic style, oil-finished walnut and a light-weight synthetic.
