IDNR Conservation Police Charge Michigan Residents in Deer Poaching Case

Springfield, IL – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Office of Law Enforcement announced recent charges filed in Cook and Sangamon counties against five men from Illinois and Michigan. The arrests came after a five month long deer poaching investigation.

Illinois DNR Conservation Police conducted an investigation into a group of hunters who were taking several trophy-quality whitetail deer. After a thorough investigation with the assistance of Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, five hunters were charged with committing numerous Wildlife Code violations involving 31 whitetail deer. The largest buck, taken in Cook County, was a large non-typical deer scoring 213 5/8 inches and valued at $25,000. Read more

IDNR Conservation Police Make Arrests in Deer Poaching Case

Giant buck valued at $35,000…

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Charges have been filed against three individuals after an 11-month investigation by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Office of Law Enforcement in a deer poaching case. The three men were cited for numerous Wildlife Code violations including the illegal take of a potential state-record whitetail deer, and now face charges through the Grundy County State’s Attorney’s Office. Northern Utah Hunters Face Felony Charges

These scum are not hunters; they are poachers and amount to anti-hunters’ best allies…

On Sept. 17, a father and his son recklessly fired their rifles at a herd of 60 pronghorn antelope on the Woodruff Wildlife Management Area in Rich County. After the shooting was over, five pronghorn — three bucks and two does — were dead.

Each man had a permit to take a doe. But neither man had a permit to take a buck.

On Sept. 10, a hunter shot three mountain goats near Ben Lomond Peak.  His permit allowed him to take only one goat.  Read more
