Michigan Hunters for Hunger
1,173,700…that is the number of people in Michigan that need help putting food on their table based on the Hunger Study in 2009. Unfortunately…we all know someone who is a part of that number…you can help! For 16 years Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger has been helping Michigan communities through the generous donations from sportsmen and sportswomen. Join the program with these easy steps…. ·
When you purchase your hunting or fishing license tell the sales clerk you want to donate to the Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger program. If the over 700,000 sportsmen and women donated $1.00 imagine what we could do to help hungry families!!! · If you have already purchased your license you can still donate by clicking on the “Help Feed the Hungry icon” in the Michigan estore donation section at, www.michigan.gov/estore.·
Go Hunting!!! Take your deer to one of the participating processors (listed on the Sportsmen Against Hunger web site) for donation to the program. You can either donate the whole deer or a portion of the deer. It is your choice and all donations are greatly appreciated. If there is not a processor in your area please contact MSAH at our website www.sportsmenagainsthunger.org or call (586) 552-6517.·
Help recruit more processors throughout our state. Michigan hunters like you donated over 23,000 pounds of venison last year. This venison was distributed to local food banks, soup kitchens and shelters. Also, through generosity at local sport shows, over 30,000 pounds of canned goods were donated.
