As Michigan’s crop of Mute Swans continues to grow, so does its nuisance factor. Something needs to be done, and the best of all practical options is to kill them. After all, they are classified as invasive species. More here…
Most lakefront property owners actually prefer the swans to the canada goose. The swans aggressively ward off the geese- keeping the foul, messy, destrucive pests off of home owners beaches and lawns.
I’m sure there are many varmint hunters that would offer to do the job. The Canada Goose should also be considered an invasive species> They should be next on the DNR’s list>>
