NSSF Donates $100,000 to USA Shooting Team
The National Shooting Sports Foundation, a longtime USA Shooting sponsor, recently provided the organization with $100,000 donation to help support the USA Shooting Team and shooter development programs. The financial donation along with their multi-year support, publicity and recognition helps increase USA Shooting’s visibility and preserve the Olympic shooting sports nationwide.
The NSSF has been a valuable contributor to USA Shooting for many years now, and its contributions to the organization helped create the Progressive Pistol Program, a junior event that provides a great introduction to the sport of pistol shooting.
NSSF funds helped USA Shooting purchase electronic targets for its indoor ranges in Colorado Springs following the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. In addition, the NSSF/USA Shooting partnership is showcased each January during the Shooting,
Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show® (SHOT Show®), which was recently recognized as one of the Top 25 fast-growing trade shows based on attendance growth by a leading industry trade publication. USA Shooting’s participation in the SHOT Show helps provide valuable exposure for the organization’s emerging elite athletes and provides a platform for greater recognition, credibility and exposure within the industry.
“The firearms and ammunition industry takes great pride in being a longtime sponsor of the USA Shooting Team,” said NSSF Managing Director of Business Development Randy Clark. “From its introductory junior programs to its elite athletes who soon will be representing our country in London at the Summer Olympic Games, USA Shooting broadens awareness of the challenging and fun sport of target shooting.”
Said Buddy DuVall, executive director of the USA Shooting Team Foundation, “The NSSF takes its mission to heart each and every day, and their financial assistance to USA Shooting, the Boy Scouts of America, the Collegiate Shooting Sports Initiative, America’s shooting ranges and state agencies is a pivotal link to the overall health of the shooting sports industry. Our success as an organization presently and in the future hinges on partnerships like we’ve shared with the NSSF for many years now, and we sincerely appreciate their long-standing and generous support.”
In April, the NSSF visited USA Shooting headquarters and shot video content for its popular Shooting Sportscast series. Now running on the NSSF YouTube channel,http://www.youtube.com/TheNSSF, this current series features marquee USA Shooting athletes and coaches providing tips and information on the Olympic shooting sports.
