Mike Avery’s Outdoor Magazine radio show has added two more Michigan affiliates.
Starting this weekend, ESPN 1400 (WKNW) in Sault St. Marie, will air the award- winning program.
“I’ve been trying to get into that market for a couple years now”, says Avery. “The folks in the eastern Upper Peninsula are hard core hunters and anglers, plus this move gives me access to an international audience just across the river in Ontario”.
WKNW will air the three hour show Saturday mornings from 7-10AM.
Outdoor Magazine radio is also expanding in southwest Michigan. “The Pledge” 96.5 FM in Holland is now airing the show.
Veteran outdoor broadcaster Avery says, “The Pledge FM puts a strong signal into Grand Rapids, which of course is another key Michigan market”.
Outdoor Magazine continues to dominate the outdoor radio scene in Michigan with 22 AM and FM affiliates, and more stations are expected to sign on soon.
Mike Avery recently left a long career in outdoor television to concentrate on radio. “The continued growth of my radio show proves that medium is still extremely viable, and a great way to celebrate the outdoor lifestyle”, he says.
Avery’s Outdoor Magazine show can also be heard nationally as a podcast on iTunes as well as the website, facebook page and mobile apps.
