POMA Set to Celebrate 10th Anniversary Business Meeting

GW:  I’ll be in Springfield.

The Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) will celebrate its 10th Annual Business Meeting in Springfield, Mo., March 18-21, with a packed program and an announcement about the group’s future leadership. POMA President Tom Opre said, “The POMA board of directors is excited about the possibility of introducing a new executive director at the conference in Springfield. A search committee, led by industry icon and POMA founding member Tom Gresham, has narrowed the field of applicants and we’re confident POMA’s future will be in good hands.”

POMA has built a reputation of offering its members fast-paced, information-packed meetings and the 2015 event will be no exception. “POMA’s 2015 conference program is focused on today, tomorrow and helping communicators keep step with technology, trends and important business-building techniques,” said Kevin Tate, POMA chairman of the board and head of the 2015 conference program. “How communicators think, adjust and adapt to the changing environment, incorporate multi-media technologies and understand their markets and audiences directly impacts their success. To keep POMA members on the cutting edge, we’ve assembled a bevy of top-notch business, communications and media and technology gurus to help conference attendees stay ahead of the curve and the competition.” Behavioral scientist and experienced business leader Holly Green will lead three sessions based in neuroscience and designed to help attendees understand the thought processes that lead to success. In “Living and Thriving at the Pace of Change” Green will help attendees understand how to truly thrive in an environment of constant distraction. “Using Your Brain To Win” will include tips and techniques to stay focused, think more clearly, and make better decisions.

In “Exposing Yourself To Grow Your Business (Legally and Appropriately, Of Course)” Green will explain approaches to influencing others, and establishing and maintaining credibility. Green has a rare combination of extensive academic training and in-the-trenches experience working in and leading organizations. As CEO and managing director of The Human Factor, Inc., she helps business leaders achieve excellence by creating clarity on what winning looks like and determining how to get there. Her unique approach to strategic agility, alignment and engagement—based on the approach pause, think, focus, run—provides the tools, techniques, and skills needed for your business to reach its strategic destinations and achieve its goals.

Jason McDonald is one of POMA members’ favorite conference presenters. He is director of the JM Internet Group, and has been active in Internet marketing since 1994, first in hi-tech for embedded engineers and increasingly in teaching SEO, social media, and AdWords to businesspeople and marketers online. Jason also teaches live at Stanford University’s continuing studies program as well as in San Francisco. His philosophy is can-do, and hands-on, and his sessions include “Writing For Google: SEO Basics & Writing Strategies,” The Brand Called You: Internet Personal Branding, Optimizing Images,” and “Video For SEO/Social Media.”
