A Modern Classic Hunter Inspired by Tactical Innovations
Classically Designed 21st Century Hybrid Wood Chassis Hunting Rifles
Ruckersville, VA. – Ashbury Precision Ordnance Mfg (APO) makes its entry into the traditional hunting rifle market with its new premium JÄEGER Rifle. The JÄEGER Rifle is a classically designed custom hunting rifle built with precision machined stainless steel actions, match grade hand lapped barrels and advanced technology premium grade wood stocks. Ashbury has brought rugged, accuracy enhancing, low maintenance patented aluminum chassis technology and the warmth and timeless beauty of premium grade wood stocks to life with its new JÄEGER Rifle.
JÄEGER Rifles are built on artisan crafted hybrid wood-alloy rifle stocks that feature an aerospace grade aluminum chassis embedded inside premium grade English and exhibition grade Turkish walnut. JÄEGER Rifles feature close wood to metal fit between Ashbury’s own line of precision manufactured SABER bolt action receivers and the premium grade hybrid wood stocks.
The JÄEGER Rifle is designed for big game hunters desiring the classic look and feel of fine wood in a highly accurate well balanced “all-weather” precision bolt action hunting rifle. Each JÄEGER Rifle is meticulously hand crafted by Ashbury’s experienced ordnance team lead by USMC trained gunsmiths, armorers, and proud American craftsmen to exacting standards and precision tolerances that deliver consistent ½ MOA down range performance.
Using Ashbury’s precision machined stainless steel actions, premium stainless steel barrels, rugged reliable triggers and advanced technology English and Turkish walnut stocks, Ashbury crafts each JÄEGER Rifle for discriminating clients. JÄEGER precision rifles require no bedding, are low maintenance and deliver consistent high levels of accuracy with match grade hunting ammunition. Custom JÄEGER Rifles are chambered in twenty-five different short and long action calibers in right or left hand configurations.
The core of the JÄEGER Rifle’s accuracy, are Ashbury’s SX and LX octagonal SABER® bolt action receivers precision machined from billet 416R stainless steel. The receiver is matched with a strong one piece, 2-lug bolt made of 4140 Chromemoly steel. Both the bolt and receiver are each coated with a rugged, all weather protective BLACKNITRIDE™ finish. The standard JÄEGER fire control mechanism is a reliable single stage trigger set to break at a crisp 3 pounds.
The standard JÄEGER rifle barrel is bullet-twist rate matched with a hand select premium #1 (select calibers) #2 contour barrel made of 416R stainless steel that is professionally hand lapped. JÄEGER rifle barrels are chambered to a straightness of less than two ten thousandths (<0.0002″) of an inch or better and finished with a recessed 11 degree target crown. Barrel length and contour options are available as well as lightweight Proof Research carbon fiber wrapped barrels.
The JÄEGER’s premium grade wood stock internal chassis is engineered to interlock with Ashbury’s octagonal bolt action receiver, and is fed by an internal box magazine. The stock features an Obendorf style aluminum trigger guard and tastefully engraved magazine floor plate. The standard JÄEGER Rifle features an attractive Premium Grade-1 English walnut stock in a classic Sporter configuration with a high comb that comes to the shoulder smoothly for fast accurate shooting.
The premium grade English walnut stock is skillfully hand checkered at 22 lines per inch in a four panel three point design. The stock is attractively finished with an Ebony wood tip and a hand fitted Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. The entire JÄEGER stock has a hand rubbed, old world deep oil finish.
The rifle has blued sling attachments on the bottom of the shoulder stock and anchored into the internal chassis at the forend. The JÄEGER Rifle base weight is approximately 7 lbs and is coated in a tough weather and solvent resistant Cerakote or optional BLACKNITRIDE™ finish. The MSRP for the JÄEGER Rifle is $6,140 to $6,650 USD.
Ashbury will be demonstrating and displaying the JÄEGER Rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor at the upcoming 2017 SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range shoot and in booth #31407 located in the Law Enforcement section Titian ballroom.
