SIG Says Enough, Sues Lawyer

After months of quietly discounting lawsuits filed by police officers alleging their P320 pistols have experienced “un-commanded discharges” SIG SAUER has apparently had enough. Yesterday, the Epping, New Hampshire company filed a federal lawsuit against attorney Jeffrey S. Bagnell and his law firm (Jeffrey S. Bagnell, Esq. LLC) alleging, among other things, that Bagnell and his firm have made “false and defamatory statements” regarding SIG’s P320 pistol.

Specifically, the suit alleges that Bagnell and his firm “published a plainly false and inaccurate animation of the SIG P320 in an effort to induce a belief in consumers that the P320 is unsafe, and to attract new clients for the Bagnell law firm.” The suit further alleges Bagnell’s animation includes “false depictions of key internal components” that are then used to support “false assertions about the mechanics of the firearm that are physically impossible.”
