For 2024, Benelli adds a new level of refined performance to its 828U series with the introduction of the 828U Steel Field.
The hallmark of the 828U Steel Field line of over-under shotguns is the new steel receiver. Treated with an elegant brushed gray finish, the receiver leverages the slightly enhanced weight and strength of steel to help mitigate recoil when shooting heavy loads and to move weight bias rearward for a subtle balance shift that delivers smoother swings on fast-moving targets. The 828U Steel Field’s exquisite balance and delicate handling makes it as suitable for the clays range as the upland fields.
As with all 828U-series shotguns, the 828U Steel Field features Benelli’s patented steel locking system that reduces wear and fatigue on the receiver and hinge to ensure years of flawless performance. Combined with a barrel-contained ejector system and top lever trigger reset, the 828U Steel Field runs reliably and effortlessly so you can focus on the shot.
Assisting shooter performance is Benelli’s Perfect Fit technology, which allows up to 40 points of drop and cast adjustability for an optimal fit. This is backed by the Benelli Progressive Comfort recoil-reduction stock system, providing three progressive levels of recoil mitigation to cover everything from light to magnum loads.
Aesthetically, the 828U Steel Field hits all the right notes. AA-grade walnut furniture treated with a luxurious satin finish adds a sophisticated accent to the brushed gray receiver and gloss blue barrel treatment. All of this is highlighted with a gold trigger and gold 828U nomenclature in the receiver.
The 828U Steel Field is offered in both 12- and 20-gauge with 2 ¾- and 3-inch chambers. Available barrel lengths for 12-gauge models are 26, 28, and 30 inches while the 20-gauge comes with 26- or 28-inch barrels. Each model includes extended chrome Crio® choke tubes in C, IC, M, IM, and F, a fiber-optic front sight with red insert, stepped-rib barrel, and a custom-fitted hard case.
