Michigan Has Surplus Cash

Preliminary figures show the state of Michigan ended the 2012 fiscal year with fund balances of more than $1.2 billion, including a $1 billion surplus in the state’s general fund, according to a Senate Fiscal Agency report Thursday.

Say what you want about the current state government, but under past Governor Granholm, this never happened – much like the present federal government.  Heck, our national leaders don’t even have a budget and haven’t for four years.  At least that way, they can’t go over budget.  What a concept!  Genius they are.
