MidwayUSA Foundation Grants Over $4.1 Million to Youth Shooting Teams

Columbia, MO – MidwayUSA Foundation is excited to announce that hundreds of youth shooting teams across the nation have received their annual cash grants to cover critical expenses. A payout of over $4.1 million has been distributed to 832 youth shooting teams. This is the largest cash grant payout MidwayUSA Foundation has paid and these funds will assist approximately 37,000 youth shooting athletes. Expenses covered are ammunition, targets, travel, entry fees, team gear, and more.

“We use the Foundation in everything that we do, whether it’s travel, training, competitions, ammo, gear, and equipment. Our team knows that the money will be there annually to help us with the various expenses associated with having a shooting team,” said Michael Elam, Head Coach of Shotgun Sports at Lindenwood University. Lindenwood University received an impressive $39,000+ cash grant in this most recent MidwayUSA Foundation cycle. This large payout proves Lindenwood’s active fundraising efforts, as well as proves the potential for other young shooting sports programs. Primary Arms Joins the NSSF in Support of Ukraine with Combat Supply Donation

HOUSTON, TEXAS – Following the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s recent call for support, Primary Arms has prepared a shipment of combat supplies for the Ukrainian military and is now asking its partners to join the initiative.

As the war in Ukraine continues to develop, the Ukrainian military has called for support through donations of mission-critical battlefield supplies. This includes armaments, gear, and equipment for Ukrainian soldiers, and the American firearms industry is prepared to offer its support. The gun industry’s foremost trade organization, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), recently called on its members to provide aid packages for quick shipment. Specifically, the NSSF requests shipments of firearms and ammunitions, as well as magazines, optics, and parts.

As a leading retailer and optics manufacturer, Primary Arms is proud to support this initiative and has already prepared a shipment for the Ukrainian defense.

CMP Seeking Junior Rifle Camp Counselors for Summer 2022

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is in search of qualified individuals to fill counselor positions for its Junior Rifle Camps program. This premier program has an established history of providing the highest quality three-position and international air rifle and smallbore instruction in the country for high school athletes and not only positively supports the careers of campers but the counselors who lead instruction as well.

Camp Counselor positions are open to college students who have completed at least one year of school and are members of an NCAA or college club rifle team. Applicants must be available to work and travel throughout the 2022 summer for camps, though accommodations will be made for applicants competing in International Competition.

These are highly competitive positions, and selection will be based on a number of criteria including academic performance, shooting experience, coaching/youth leadership experience and references. All Camp Counselors who are selected for hire will be required to pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment.

Job duties will primarily consist of working with groups of five or more high school-aged athletes of various skill levels at five-day camps, three-day clinics and three-day advanced standing position camps. Additional duties include range set-up, break down, general cleanup, various range activities, assisting with camper registrations and check-in as well as working various CMP events outside the camps. FN Announces Safety Recall for the FN 502 Tactical

(McLean, VA ) FN America, LLC announces a safety recall for the FN 502 Tactical .22LR pistol, which was previously the subject of FN’s January 27, 2022 safety bulletin. The original concern involved a missing manual safety lock lever in a small number of FN 502 Tactical pistols that would allow the discharge of the pistol when the trigger is pulled with the manual safety in the SAFE position. While investigating this issue with Umarex, the supplier of the FN 502 Tactical, we encountered a separate concern with proper installation of the manual safety lock lever. Consequently, if forced by multiple pulls of the trigger in succession, or if the pistol is jarred, an unintended firing may happen when the manual safety is in the SAFE position. Read more
