German Precision Optics Optic-Fit Binocular Adapter System

RICHMOND, Va. — Being able to glass for extended periods of time is essential when hunting. To make this task easier, GPO is pleased to introduce its new Optic-Fit binocular and spotting scope tripod adapter system. Designed by outdoor enthusiasts who demand the highest quality optic-tripod mounting system for heavy and extreme use, this quick connect system will get your optic on and off a tripod with an inventive, durable and one of the fastest quick detach systems in the industry.

Made in the USA, this premium tripod adapter system is available through GPO authorized retailers nationwide. Its multi-part system is compatible with virtually all binocular and spotting scopes. The machined aluminum base is made of high-grade aircraft aluminum block components and assembled with steel Allen screws. It simply attaches to any tripod by using the ¼” x20” base plate on the tripod. The binocular post that attaches to and remains on the binocular threads into the hole on the front center hinge, located between the two binocular barrels. It is machined from high grade stainless steel and locks into place on the binocular with a standard stainless-steel hex bolt. After the quick detach post is connected to the binoculars, it attaches to the Optic-Fit base by sliding it through a machined hole in the base, which quickly and securely locks it into place. Remington Bankruptcy Fallout Update

The following comments are from Jim Shepherd…

We told you that customers of now-bankrupt Remington firearms had contacted us regarding guns they’d sent back for warrant and/or repair work. With Remington now closed down and parceled out to various buyers, it seemed no one- including the federal bankruptcy court in Huntsville, Alabama, had any idea what to do.

After the feature ran, we were contacted by several other owners. They told us the same story: can’t find anyone who knows what’s going on.

Industry leaders reached out to us, offering several suggestions to get in touch with various groups now affiliated with the company formerly known as Remington. Like the officials in federal bankruptcy court, we tried, and had the same result: nothing.

This, however, isn’t a story with another unhappy ending. Over the weekend, we received this note from one of the first Remington owners who reached out to us:

“I just wanted to follow up on this. I arrived home to a UPS box laying on my porch and to my surprise it was my handgun. Paper enclosed stated that they repaired it (although I doubt it), I’m just happy to get my handgun back. Seems like, at least in Huntsville, they still have some people working on repairs even though you can’t get ahold of anyone. I want to thank you again for your willingness to help and wish you all the best.”

We’re always pleased when an unfortunate situation resolves itself. And it seems the good news is now beginning to spread among all Remington owners who found their guns stuck in an unfortunate limbo. On Tuesday, we received this message from a Remington shotgun owner who’d told us he was missing duck season:

“Jim,

My gun is in transit! It should be here by next Tuesday.”

Seems someone at Remington made arrangements to do the right thing for their former customers and put a system in place to make certain the warranty/repair guns were returned. I say that because we still haven’t been able to find out who’s doing the return work- or where. But as we promised, we’re keeping you posted.

Weighing just 5.4 lbs. in the .308 Win version, this highly accurate bolt-action rifle is ideal for strenuous hunts when every ounce counts.

NEWINGTON, N.H. – SIG SAUER, Inc. is proud to announce the TANGO6T has been selected by the U.S. Department of Defense for the Direct View Optic (DVO) in response to a solicitation to enhance squad performance with a variable powered riflescope. Unlike older generation non-magnified or fixed-magnification optics, the TANGO6T is a 1-6X variable-magnification riflescope that enables the soldier to engage both close quarter targets and targets at extended ranges.

This award from the U.S. DoD is the third award for the SIG SAUER TANGO6T; previously selections for the TANGO6T include the Squad Designated Marksman Rifle (SDMR) and the USSOCOM Squad-Variable Powered Scope (S-VPS). The TANGO6T riflescope is currently in use with the U.S. Army Squad Designated Marksman and U.S. Military Special Forces.

“After rigorous and stringent testing, where the best of the industry competed, we are proud to confirm the SIG SAUER TANGO6T riflescope has been selected by the U.S. Army as the Direct View Optic,” began Ron Cohen, President and CEO, SIG SAUER, Inc. “This is a three-peat for the TANGO6T as the riflescope continues to prove it will withstand the rigors of U.S. military testing making it the choice for use with our soldiers. The further proliferation of the riflescope into the U.S. Military’s M4A1 operating system is an exciting achievement for SIG SAUER Electro-Optics and further proof that the TANGO6T is the direction of the future.”

The TANGO6T 1-6×24 DVO riflescope will be used on M4A1 carbines and is a first focal plane ruggedized riflescope with a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) anodized aircraft grade aluminum main tube. The riflescope features the DWLR6 reticle capable of providing range estimation and wind holds at extreme distances, the advanced HELLFIRE illumination system for fast target acquisition, a locking illumination dial, Power Selector Ring (PSR) Throw Lever, the ALPHA4 ultralight mount, and a laser-marked scope level indicator for intuitive installation.
