BAYONNE, NJ – Henry Repeating Arms continues its position as one of the country’s leading lever action firearm manufacturers and seeks to expand its territory with the introduction of their new 2017 models. The offerings are expanding to include even more variants on their rimfire and centerfire rifles, as well as a new line of shotguns and single shot rifles.

The Henry Frontier Long Barrel 24″ debuts as a new addition to Henry’s popular rimfire rifles. The blued steel octagonal barrel is extended 4 inches from the 20 inches of its predecessor, the Lever Action Octagon Frontier Rifle. The extended barrel provides a longer distance between the front and rear sights, which seeks to improve accuracy. Another version of this Long Barrel rifle is debuting with a threaded barrel straight from the factory to accept a suppressor. The Lever Frontier Long Barrel 24″ is offered in two calibers: .22 S/L/LR Model # H001TLB, and .22 Magnum Model # H001TMLB. MSRP is $470.00 for the .22 S/L/LR model and $570.00 for the .22 Magnum version. The Lever Frontier Threaded is also being chambered in the same calibers: Model # H001TSPR in .22 S/L/LR with an MSRP of $502.00, and Model # H001TMSPR in .22 Magnum with an MSRP of $596.00.

Henry’s line of Tribute Edition rifles has expanded to introduce the Fraternal Order of Eagles Tribute and the Second Amendment Tribute rifles. The H0004FOE Fraternal Order of Eagles Tribute pays homage to the international non-profit organization that seeks to rectify social issues, boasts a membership of over 800,000 members, and has been in existence for well over a century. The American walnut stock features a laser engraved and hand painted logo of an attacking eagle and the nickeled receiver is embellished with various engravings including the F.O.E.’s slogan, “People Helping People,” highlighted in 24K gold plating. MSRP is $1,050.00. The H004SAT Second Amendment Tribute recognizes the NRA’s efforts to defend Americans’ rights to bear arms with detailed engravings highlighted in 24K gold plating on the nickeled receiver. NRA Moving High Power Rifle Championships

In an effort to keep the National High Power Rifle Championships up to the high standards that competitors have enjoyed for over one-hundred years, the NRA will move the Championship from its historic home at Camp Perry, OH, to Camp Atterbury, IN. This change in venue will take effect during the 2017 National Matches, pending approval by the NRA Board of Directors in January 2017.

Dennis Willing, director of NRA Competitive Shooting explained the decision.

“The NRA High Power Rifle Committee met and determined it would be beneficial to all competitors if we moved the Championship from Camp Perry to another site. After much discussion, the range at Camp Atterbury, IN, was selected as the new home of the NRA National High Power Rifle Championships.” Read more

In northern Florida and Pennsylvania, throughout Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan, in small towns and communities all across America, you were the special forces that swung this election and sent Donald Trump and Mike Pence to the White House.

You did this. Don’t let anybody else tell you otherwise.

In the wake of this historic event, the same disgraced group of so-called experts, talking heads, pundits and pollsters that got everything wrong before the election are trying to deceive you once again. So let me remove all doubt: gun owners made this election happen. Hillary Clinton made her hatred for the Second Amendment a central issue of this campaign and as a result of that fatal mistake, she’s on permanent political vacation. Read more

USCCA: Americans Voted To Protect the Second Amendment

In the wake of Tuesday’s election, pro-gun groups say voters sent a clear message once again that gun control is not a winning issue for politicians who seek to curb American’s Second Amendment freedoms.

The race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton shined a spotlight on the Supreme Court ruling in District of Columbia v Heller (2008) in particular and the Second Amendment in general. Clinton promised universal background checks, an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, and numerous other gun controls. Trump promised to save the Second Amendment from “people like Hillary Clinton.” And he voiced direct opposition to expanding background checks or instituting “assault weapon” or “high capacity” magazine bans. In the end, the people voted to protect Second Amendment – and the Heller decision – during a historic November 8 election. Read more

Target shooting rules have changed on Michigan game and wildlife areas

With firearm deer season almost here, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters that target shooting rules were recently changed through a land use order by the DNR director.

“Many hunters head to local state game and wildlife areas to sight in their guns, and with the recent changes to target shooting on these specific areas, we want to help hunters be legal,” said Tim Payne, DNR southeast regional wildlife supervisor.

Previously, target shooting on some state game and wildlife areas resulted in user conflicts and management issues. Some of the issues included congestion of people, unsafe use of targets, early morning or late night shooting, and damage to habitat and restoration efforts (tree damage, litter, etc.).

To help alleviate conflicts and to provide a safer target shooting experience, target shooting rules on state game areas and wildlife areas now are as follows:

A person shall not do any of the following:

  • Target shoot at anything other than a paper, cardboard or commercially produced portable target designed and manufactured for the specific purpose of target shooting.
  • Use or attempt to use incendiary or explosive targets.
  • Use or attempt to use incendiary or explosive ammunition.
  • Use or attempt to use armor-piercing ammunition (as defined by section 224c of 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.224c)
  • Possess or be under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol or a combination while target shooting.
  • Use or attempt to use a firearm, other than a pistol, revolver, shotgun, rifle, hand-held firearm or a muzzle-loading firearm.
  • Use a muzzle-loading firearm exceeding .80 caliber. Read more
