Ruger Introduces 10/22 Takedown with Target Barrel

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to introduce the new Ruger® 10/22 Takedown® with target barrel. This newest introduction shares all the popular attributes of the 10/22 Takedown line. Readily separated into two subassemblies, the 10/22 Takedown offers a convenient transport and storage option for the popular Ruger 10/22®.

As reliable and accurate as every 10/22, the 10/22 Takedown makes it even easier to keep America’s favorite rimfire rifle by your side. The barrel and forend of the 10/22 Takedown are easily separated from the action and buttstock by pushing a recessed lever, twisting the subassemblies and pulling them apart. Reassembly is the reverse of takedown, and is quick and easy. The friction fit lockup of the assembly joint is simple to adjust, but will rarely need re-adjustment after the first assembly. The lockup is secure and repeatable, ensuring an accurate return to zero, even when receiver-mounted optics are used.

The Ruger 10/22 Takedown with target barrel features a .920″ diameter, 16.10″ cold hammer-forged barrel. The barrel is fluted for weight reduction, features a ½”-28 threaded muzzle and is fitted with a thread cap. This new target barrel takedown model also incorporates the Ruger Modular Stock System and comes with both low and high comb, standard length of pull modules. Read more

CMP Auction Room Readies Rare and Fascinating Items for Auction Site

By Ashley Brugnone, CMP Writer

Most people who have heard of the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) associate the organization with its rifles. Many travel miles, far and wide, to rummage through the shelves of the North and South Stores – looking for the perfect new addition to their growing collections. But for those searching for more valuable, select items, they can only be found online – and are sold to the highest bidder.

The CMP Auction Site has been an important facet of the company since 2009. Each year, the site features exclusive, high-end items sold solely through the website – not in CMP stores. In 2015, from October to mid-November alone, the site brought in $350-400 thousand dollars in sales revenue – serving as one of the main sources of income for the organization.

The gateway of each item’s journey from warehouse to website is the Auction Room in Anniston, AL. From the warehouse, employees within the Auction Room receive the items that have been deemed worthy of being sold through the site – unique rifles with rare parts or intriguing stories – and are tasked with describing each component through high-resolution photos and a short, detailed description on the site.
“You’ll get rare stuff – stuff you can’t get anywhere else,” said Josh White, one of the CMP employees within the Auction Room. “The pictures we take are what tell the story. You have to look at the pictures to see what you’re getting.” Read more

Aiding this assurance is a cold-hammer-forged, No. 3-contour, fluted, “bull” barrel measuring 0.740-inch at the muzzle. Twenty-four inches in length, the free-floating barrel is made from 410 series stainless steel that has been bead blasted to a matte finish and has a recessed target crown to enhance accuracy and protect rifling. California Gov. Brown blasts Arizona, Nevada gun laws

In wake of the San Bernardino massacre which left 14 dead earlier this week, California Gov. Jerry Brown went on the attack Saturday slamming neighboring states’ gun laws.

Brown told the Sacramento Bee that Nevada and Arizona are a “gigantic back door through which any terrorist can walk.”

Hold on there, Moonbeam.  Were not the firearms used in the mass murder attack obtained legally in California?  Oh, yes.  And, were the criminals violating the gun-free zone laws, as well?  And, isn’t murder illegal?

Forget it.  Just shift the blame and feed us some more poison.
