Arizona’s Hunter and Ash Canyons Closed to Shooting

GW:  When slobs descend on public land for target shooting, this is what can result.  In Arizona, the trash remains in plain sight for eternity.  Now the same slobs will congregate elsewhere with the same result.

Closure in effect beginning July 1, 2014
SIERRA VISTA, AZ – Beginning July 1, 2014 the Coronado National Forest, Sierra Vista Ranger District, will close Ash and Hunter Canyons to all recreational shooting.The emergency closure is being implemented due to excessive resource damage to trees and other vegetation in both canyons and large amounts of trash, shells and lead being deposited in trees and on the ground. NSSF Issues Report on Combined Spending by Hunters and Target Shooters

Ruger American Rimfire Line Now Includes Three Threaded Barrel Models

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) – Since its release nearly a year ago, the Ruger American Rimfire® line of bolt-action rifles has become extremely popular. Building on this success, six new models over three calibers are now available. New threaded barrel models in .22 LR, .22 Magnum and .17 HMR are available in full-sized (13.75″ length of pull) and compact (12.5″ length of pull) variations.
