COMER, GA   – MasterPiece Arms, manufacturers of the MPA MAC Line of pistols, carbines, suppressors and MPAR Rifles, is pleased to announce the new MPAR 556 Sporting Rifle is now shipping.  This feature heavy, stamped steel design has been under development since 2012 and was first unveiled at the 2013 SHOT Show. It features some serious upgrades, including a short stroke piston design and a lightweight, free floating, two piece hard-anodized aluminum handguard with user located picatinny rails. It also includes an innovative front handguard cap to keep debris out of the internals of the handguards while providing strength and stability to the assembly. Read more

California Gun Group Delivers 65,000 Letters to Governor Brown Urging Gun Control Vetoes

SACRAMENTO, CA — Earlier this morning, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) Managing Director Brandon Combs, joined by California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees (CAL-FFL) Legislative Advocate Craig DeLuz, delivered 65,000 letters from individuals urging California Governor Jerry Brown to veto the 14 gun control bills currently on his desk. Government Shutdown and NICS

As of this morning, there was no deal in place to avert the impending government shutdown. In the event of that shutdown, the FBI says their NICS Section is set to remain fully operational and maintain normal business hours. However, the National Shooting Sports Foundation reports the ATF’s Office of Enforcement Programs and Services (EPS) would effectively be shut down, operating with minimal staff.

SAF Sues New York Over SAFE Act

BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation filed suit Friday in federal court seeking to enjoin the State of New York from enforcing provisions of the so-called “SAFE Act” that limit the use of gun magazines containing more than seven cartridges.
SAF is joined in the lawsuit by the Shooters Committee for Political Education (SCOPE) and Long Island Firearms LLC. They are represented by New York attorneys David Jensen and Robert P. Firriolo. Read more

The M2012MT308T and M2012LT308G/M2012LT260G follow their predecessor in the line, the M2012SA308. Conservation Groups Unravel Controversy on Litigation Payouts

MISSOULA, Mont.–Conservation groups are gathering behind a Boone and Crockett Club-initiated push to resolve decades of controversy over legal challenges against the US Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service and other federal conservation agencies.
A joint letter from many of the nation’s top wildlife, sporting and conservation organizations is circulating this week to lawmakers in Washington D.C. The letter urges support and co-sponsorship for the bipartisan bill H.R. 2919–The Open Book on Equal Access to Justice Act. Read more
