DESCRIPTION OF THE HAZARD:
During an internal technical review, Smith & Wesson identified a condition that may exist with the sear supplied with some rifles that would allow the rifle to fire without the trigger being pulled. Buried for 70 Years, Browning Machine Gun Roars to Life

This is a fantastic story (and very well detailed) for Veterans Day and a testament to the quality machining of the Brits during World War II.  After touring the Browning museum in Ogden, Utah this past August, I am not surprised that this recovered relic would fire after being buried since the Big One.  The quality and ingenuity of the Browing family is beyond belief.  If you ever get a chance to stop by the museum, do so.  You’ll never regret it.

BELLEVUE, WA – Today’s hearing on Operation Fast and Furious before the Senate Judiciary Committee once again provided an opportunity for two leading Senate gun prohibitionists to try spreading the blame for botched gun trafficking, and change the debate to arguments for more gun control, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said.

S&W Issues Recall Notice

Venture Rifle.

DESCRIPTION OF THE HAZARD: During an internal technical
review, Smith & Wesson determined that some of the sears used on Venture rifles produced from August 1, 2011 to October 28, 2011, may not have been manufactured to specification. Because the sear is an important part of the firing mechanism, we are asking that all of the rifles produced during this time period be returned to Smith & Wesson so that the firearm can be inspected by our technicians to ensure that the rifle operates in a safe and appropriate manner. Wisconsin Concealed Pistol License Applications at 20,476 for One Week

In Wisconsin 20,476 applications for concealed pistol licenses were submitted by its citizens in one week.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen,  who was the first applicant in Wisconsin to receive a permit, made this statement: “I am pleased that tens of thousands of applications have streamed into the Department, and many law-abiding Wisconsin residents already have received licenses.”
