You can blame it all on me. Just point your index finger in my direction when they ask, “Did you order this?” And, when the first one of the season wonders if it’s cold enough for you, just mumble what you will. This arctic blast is entirely my fault.
Hunker down, put another log on the fire and add an extra blanket. It’s now unofficially late deer season and cold comes with the territory. Bring on the white stuff! In my seventh decade as a Michigander, I’ve learned to love what others dread.
No, I’m not a masochist. However, I’ve learned that when the temperature drops, more fuel is required. And, when it comes to whitetail deer, fuel is food. Find food. Find deer. And, sit.
