Axeon Second Zero Opens Up Long Range Possibilities

FORT SMITH, Ark. –The Axeon® Second Zero® is a precision optical device that gives any rifle shooter an instant additional zero distance whether in hunting or tactical application. It works with all optical sights from rifle scopes to dot sights.

Shooters typically zero their rifles with one consistent load at a known distance. For many popular rifle loads this equates to an additional zero of 330 or 530 yards. Read more

SWAROVSKI OPTIC Integrates Digital Intelligence into New dS Riflescope

Cranston, Rhode Island – SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA, a subsidiary of the Austrian based company, announces the dS, representing a completely new generation of rifle scope. This product will highlight the optical features of a conventional rifle scope and combine the technology of digital targeting to form an impressive, complete device. Delivery starts in the US market in January 2019.

The new dS shows not only the correct aiming point, but also the key ballistic data in the head-up display without any distraction and in real time. The key benefit for hunters is that the correct aiming point will be displayed automatically in the rifle scope. With the press of a button, the dS measures the exact distance to the target, having factored in the magnification setting, air pressure, temperature, and angle. This takes into account the personal ballistic data for your firearm/ammunition combination.

The windage mark intervals are calculated based on the distance measured, the wind speeds set, and the ballistic data.

The display shows the distance information, bullet energy, and other features in a high-resolution head-up display that clearly provides you with all the hunting data that can contribute to a successful hunt. The design of the dS with its attractive silhouette will look great on any rifle.

The scope requires networking with a smartphone. Exchanging data is simple and straightforward via the Bluetooth® interface. The personal data supplied when sighting in the target are input directly into the app and transmitted immediately. Read more

Halo Introduces the XBS-1 Laser Rangefinding Crossbow Sight

GW: Been waiting for a range finding crossbow sight and this one is more reasonable than others offered so far.  However, as of July 20, 2019, I’ve learned that this optic has been discontinued, so forget it.

Grand Prairie, TX When it comes to shooting arrows from a crossbow, precise ranging to the target is vital-especially when shooting at live targets such as a deer or elk. Missing the vitals by an inch because an improperly judged distance can mean the difference in being the camp hero and being the camp zero. But even accurate ranging can be tricky – lifting the rangefinder to your eye, taking a reading, then dropping the rangefinder and raising the crossbow to aim through the scope. A lot can happen during this transition, particularly on game that is constantly stopping and going. Halo Optics has built the solution for this dilemma with their new for 2019 XBS-1™ Laser Rangefinding Crossbow Sight.

This high-tech device combines best-in-class ranging capability into an ultra-clear sight so the hunter can bring his eye to aim, range the target and shoot, all in one simple motion. The unit brings all the cutting-edge features Halo rangefinders are known for, including Auto Acquisition, Angle Intelligence™, and Scan Mode. The Auto Acquisition feature provides instant readings to the target with the single touch of a button. Angle Intelligence™ is perfect for hunters working from tree stands, particularly when shooting sharp angles, as it calculates slope to target to determine the proper holdover for the angle-compensated distance. Lastly, Scan Mode allows the hunter to lock in multiple targets at different yardages providing four distance readings per second to each.

The XBS-1 mounts easily to any Weaver-style rail and includes a remote button for instant activation of the rangefinder. The maximum range for the rangefinder is 150 yards. Read more
