A plane with stickers of wolves, which represented how many aerial kills it had under its wings, has caused quite a stir with wolf whackos. Wildlife Services has since removed the images for the crybabies.

In a controversial new policy, the Obama Administration plans to broaden the reach of the already far reaching federal Endangered Species Act (ESA). The new policy will make it easier to list more species of fish and wildlife as “endangered or threatened” and more broadly impose the ESA’s many restrictions. Greater limitations on fishing and hunting, wildlife management, and public land access are a likely result. Read more
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has confirmed, through DNA testing, that at least two wolves chased and killed, Candice Berner, a teacher who was jogging last year near a rural Alaska village.
Biologists cite the reason for the attack as simply aggression. In retaliation, eight wolves were killed. The trouble is that because of protections still in place, more attacks are likely. Read more at the link…

Cass County, Michigan
A deer with a swollen snout may provide information about what is causing the strange malady among whitetail deer in Michigan and other states.
Dale Wallace of Cass County is sending the head of a deer he shot last week to scientists in Georgia who are studying similar animals found in Eastern states and as far away as Idaho.
La Grande, OR — A cow, a yearling heffer, was killed by wolves from the Imnaha pack this past weekend. A court-ordered stay prevents Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife to kill any wolves from this pack even though livestock losses will continue to add up. This one pack is confirmed to have killed 19 livestock animals since last year alone.
LEWISTON, Idaho – The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is aiming to control wolf populations with helicopter gunners and government trappers in north-central Idaho. Animal activists are sure to provide a howling response.
