Nexbelt NRA Marksman Belt

(RANCHO CUCAMONGA) – Nexbelt, “The Belt with No Holes”, announced today that their micro-adjustable, cut to fit belt that has created a non-stop buzz among outdoor enthusiasts is now available to NRA Members as well. Nexbelt’s new NRA Marksman Belt is now available on the Official Store of the NRA at http://www.nrastore.com/new-arrivals/nra-marksman-belt.

Thanks to its innovative adjustment system, the NRA Marksman Belt is the most comfortable belt you’ll ever own! Because its closing mechanism ratchets in ¼” increments, this belt offers a fit that’s 4x as precise as a traditional belt. That means whether you’re carrying a firearm or not, your belt will always fit just right. It’s easy to use, too – simply cut the belt one size larger than your waist and attach the buckle (fits up to 50″ waist). Pull the bullet-tipped belt through the ratcheting buckle, and both will lock into place! The belt’s exterior features a handsome, full leather finish for a casual, or upscale look, while the interior utilizes a polyurethane liner for moisture resistance. The quick-detach buckle features a debossed NRA eagle and shield, available in Black or Brown Leather. Read more

NRA… The Rest of the Story, 3rd Ed.

Just in time for the Presidential election, the newly-released Third Edition of the book NRA… The rest of the Story has been re-cast as a more impactful rebuttal to misleading headlines about the firearms industry, shooting sports and the NRA. With the same “Kiplinger” style as the 2014 release, the updated edition challenges readers to reconsider what they think they know about the NRA.

In the book’s introduction, NRA President Allan Cors’ writes: “Many have an opinion about the National Rifle Association, but if all they know is what they hear on the evening news or read in social media, then they probably don’t know much about the NRA… NRA’s mission was expanded in the mid-1970s to include being an active participant in the legislative and public policy arena in support of protecting and advancing the guarantees of our Constitution. While this part of the NRA, popularly known as “the gun lobby,” is critical to the preservation of all civil rights, you may be surprised to learn that it is only one of many programs and services offered by the NRA to both members and non-members alike… Whatever your position is on the subject of responsible firearms ownership, you owe it to yourself to include this book in your research. — Allan Cors.” Read more

Ringing Steel With The Mule Kick Target From Birchwood Casey

The new Mule Kick™ AR500 Steel Target from Birchwood Casey® provides shooters a tough, high quality target that will provide years of shooting practice.

The Mule Kick Target is 15 ½ inches in diameter and made of1/2” AR500 steel so it will absorb rounds from centerfire handguns and rifles without a hitch. The target eliminates the need to walk down range, as hits create a loud “ring” that can be heard at distances over 300 yards. The simple, yet innovative stand holds the target low to the ground at the proper angle to the shooter, so that bullets are deflected downward. The target can also be suspended from, or bolted through the holes in the gong as long as the proper angle to the shooter is maintained.

The Mule Kick is rated for centerfire handguns and rifles up to and including magnum calibers. Handguns require a minimum distance of 25 yards. For rifles, the target should be no closer than 100 yards. High velocity rounds (3000+ fps muzzle velocity) or magnum calibers should only be used at ranges of 200 yards or more.

The Mule Kick Target is proudly made in the USA and sells for a suggested retail price of $233.40.

With liberal limits and plentiful birds, early season hunts can be memorable. Once hunting pressure takes hold, top waterfowlers stay ahead of the game by employing numerous decoy tricks.

How to stay ahead once the pressure sets in

By Sammy Bruce

September is right around the corner, and skies are filling with waterfowl. And, although early season hunts occasionally involve uneducated birds willing to commit to any spread, rarely are things that easy.

It’s incredible how fast ducks and geese get wise to hunting pressure. A true credit to the resilience of nature, these birds often change daily patterns immediately with the first sign of hunting and become reluctant to land anywhere but in the neighborhood park.

Hunters can up their odds in a number of ways. Read more
