The Top 5 Media Misrepresentations Of Gun Ownership (That Are Actually Totally Normal)

GW:  All good information at the link below, but what I never hear about why someone would want particular guns and particular ammo relates to the real reason for the Second Amendment:  It’s there to protect citizens from tyrannical rule, which by the way, we get closer to with each passing day.  Certainly, government officials avoid such talk at any cost.

“Nobody needs thousands of rounds of ammunition in their home.”

“Nobody needs armor-piercing bullets.”

“Nobody needs a stockpile of guns.”

“Nobody needs assault weapons.”

“Nobody needs…”  You finish the statement.

The logical responses to these bogus questions are here…

NSSF-Adjusted NICS Background Checks For March 2016

With Hillary Clinton threatening more loss of gun rights with her possible seat at the throne, one thing is for certain: Gun-control rhetoric continues to be good for the gun business. Silent, Invisible and Scentless in a Gamekeeper Deluxe Blind

Enclosed hunting blinds have always done a great job of masking you, your movement and your sound from deer. But, the knock on them has been that it is difficult to keep deer from smelling you, especially when the blind is installed on the ground.Advantage Hunting’s Gamekeeper Deluxe line of rigid hunting blinds solves the problem. The Deluxe Blind uses a patented scent-proof design, which allows you the flexibility to hunt in comfort on the ground or from an elevated position without the worry of being smelled, seen or heard.

Advantage’s solution to scent control in the Deluxe Blind works like this – intake ports near the floor of the blind pull air in, as air warms in the airtight Deluxe Blind, that air – and your scent – is drafted out through the top of the blind through an exhaust pipe that ends over 30 feet above the blind. Even when the Deluxe Blind is on the ground, you leave no more scent at “deer level” than if you were in a tree stand. Read more

DNR advises caution to prevent spread of oak wilt disease

For most people, April 15 is the annual tax-filing deadline. For people like Roger Mech – and other forest health professionals – April 15 also marks the beginning of the yearly window when oak wilt can be transmitted from diseased to healthy red oak trees.

Oak wilt symptoms According to Mech, forest health specialist for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Forest Resources Division, oak wilt is a serious disease of oak trees. It mainly affects red oaks, including northern red oak, black oak and pin oak. Red oaks often die within a few weeks after becoming infected. White oaks are more resistant; therefore, the disease progresses more slowly.

“The normal time-tested advice is to prevent oak wilt by not pruning or otherwise ‘injuring’ oaks from April 15 to July 15,” Mech said. Read more
