Frabill improves the Recon

Frabill’s lightest portable flip-over ice-fishing shelter, the Recon, gets enhancements well beyond a fresh new exteriorPlano, IL, (December 4, 2016) – Avid ice anglers know that dabbling a lure through one hole all day long rarely cuts it. Fish have tails and they’re not afraid to use them. The bite over here can suddenly turn into a better bite over there, and it often takes several moves per hour to make rather than break an outing. MI DNR conservation officers to enhance snowmobile noise enforcement this winter

Noncompliance could damage Michigan’s nationally recognized trail systemMichigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officers will be enhancing statewide efforts to enforce snowmobile decibel level rules this winter. Noncompliance of the rules could damage Michigan’s nationally recognized trail system because 50 percent of trails pass through private land.

Enhanced efforts will focus on the DNR-managed trail systems, high-use areas and areas where complaints are received. While on routine patrol, conservation officers also will conduct decibel-level testing of snowmobiles.

The penalty for violating the sound levels for snowmobiles is a civil infraction, with fines up to $250. Read more

California Gov. Brown blasts Arizona, Nevada gun laws

In wake of the San Bernardino massacre which left 14 dead earlier this week, California Gov. Jerry Brown went on the attack Saturday slamming neighboring states’ gun laws.

Brown told the Sacramento Bee that Nevada and Arizona are a “gigantic back door through which any terrorist can walk.”

Hold on there, Moonbeam.  Were not the firearms used in the mass murder attack obtained legally in California?  Oh, yes.  And, were the criminals violating the gun-free zone laws, as well?  And, isn’t murder illegal?

Forget it.  Just shift the blame and feed us some more poison.

Protests at HSUS Event

Last month, the Humane Society of the United States held its annual gala at the posh Cipriani on 42nd Street in midtown Manhattan. If tax records are any indicator, the event loses money; HSUS’s tax return shows a net negative income for the event last year. But it does help HSUS hobnob with NY’s socialites and wealthiest residents.

It can’t help, however, that a crowd showed up to protest HSUS. We’ve had a presence at the last two galas, making sure attendees know the facts about HSUS. But this year, the World Dog Alliance, a Hong Kong-based charity, showed up to tell its story to potential HSUS donors. The Alliance, as you may remember, is suing HSUS for fraud after HSUS allegedly took a $500,000 grant and didn’t make good on its promises.

Here’s some video of the protest.

Call Your Senators Now. Tell Them to Vote NO

The National Shooting Sports Foundation has learned that anti-gun U.S. Senators are expected to bring up a vote at ANY MINUTE this afternoon on the previously defeated Manchin-Toomey “universal background check” amendment as well as an amendment expanding the prohibited persons list to anyone unknowingly placed on a secret, error-prone government list, the so called “terrorist watch list.”

Call your senators at 202-224-3121 as soon as you can and urge them to vote NO on both amendments.
