Holosun Delivers a Direct Mount Solar Charging Sight for SIG Enthusiasts

Modular firearms are nothing new. They’ve been around for well over 100 years. Despite this, SIG successfully developed one of the most modular pistols. So successful that the US Armed Forced uses a variant of these modular pistols as the M17/18. The civilian model of the M17/18 is the SIG P320, a pistol that can be customized for concealed carry, competition, or just plinking at the range. Users can attach a pistol optic with their milled slides for some of the best and most consistent loadouts.

The SCS-320 (Solar Charging Sight) is designed for P320 optics-ready handguns and other DPP footprints. It takes the already well-designed P320 and augments it for optimal performance. The new optic attaches directly to the slide without needing an adapter plate. For perfect reticle illumination, the unit uses multidirectional light sensors in complement with a solar charging system to adjust brightness automatically. The SCS can operate indefinitely using an internal, rechargeable 20,000-hour battery, meaning you will never need to change batteries again. While brightness is automatically calibrated, an intensity override function locks the optic into a high-brightness mode for 30 minutes. Read more

SAF Victory: Calif. City Suspends ‘Sensitive Areas’ Enforcement

BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation is celebrating a small but significant victory after the community of Los Gatos, in Santa Clara County, decided to suspend enforcement of an ordinance adopted earlier this year establishing several new “sensitive areas” where legal concealed carry is prohibited.

Enforcement of the ordinance was put “on hold” after the law firm of Michel & Associates warned the city it would be sued on constitutional grounds if the new law was enforced. The law firm is representing SAF and the California Rifle & Pistol Association in this effort.

“According to published reports,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, “the town is waiting to see whether litigation against pending state legislation is resolved. That’s fine with us because it means this restrictive ordinance will not be enforced.”

Designating areas as “sensitive places” where lawful concealed carry is prohibited is a strategy by gun prohibitionists to get around new guidelines set down in the 2022 Bruen ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court regarding concealed carry in public. Read more

BDE Suppressors by PWS Tested by PEW Science

PEW Science, a trusted independent private testing laboratory, recently ran a series of tests on the PWS BDE 762 Suppressor with excellent results.

Boise, Id.– PWS is proud to showcase the results of the recent testing completed by PEW Science on the BDE (Bravo Delta Echo) 762 Suppressor. The renowned PEW Science laboratory provides the public firearm community with meaningful, comprehensive, unbiased sound signature testing and analysis for suppressed weapon systems. Their many decades of experience in this field have culminated into the “Silencer Sound Standard”, which is the “most accurate, comprehensive, and meaningful small arms sound signature rating certification available.” After a comprehensive review of the BDE 762 Suppressor on the Savage Model 10 PC .308, PEW Science gave the BDE a stellar 48.7 PEW Science Suppression Rating.

This great rating system that PEW Science has developed showcases the suppressor’s sound suppression in conjunction with the volume of fire, from self-defense and limited hunting engagement all the way up to an extremely high volume of fire. The rating shows that the BDE 762 provided high suppression performance on a tactical or hunting rifle, significantly reducing the hearing damage risk to the operator. Further results from the testing showed that the BDE 762 also offers high performance in both long and short configurations, delivering moderate back pressure in the long configuration and low back pressure in the short configuration.
