FN’s Five-Seven Pistol Receives Major Upgrade

THE ULTIMATE PRECISION PISTOL IS NOW OPTICS-READY

(McLean, VA – June 13, 2022) FN America, LLC is proud to introduce the all-new FN Five-seveN® MRD optics-ready pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm. After decades of trusted service with global militaries, law enforcement and civilian sport shooters, the FN Five-seveN receives a complete design update with a factory-milled slide to accept most micro red dot optics. Coupled with major upgrades to the frame and slide, the new FN Five-seveN MRD sets a new standard for optic-interoperability, control and accuracy.

“The FN Five-seveN pistol has been immensely popular since its introduction. Its original design capturing the performance of the FN-designed 5.7x28mm cartridge made it an instant success, and it’s positioned to do it yet again with the dramatic redesign of the FN Five-seveN MRD,” said Chris Cole, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FN America, LLC. “With the addition of an integral optics mounting system on the slide, an already accurate pistol now redefines what handgun accuracy means. We’re truly excited to bring this new pistol to market with features our customers want in their favorite FN caliber.” Read more

Firearm ownership is a right enjoyed by millions of Americans, and with that right comes the responsibility to safely handle and store firearms when they’re not in use. Streamlined ATF eForm 4 Submissions for NFA Tax Stamps

Silencer Shop, the nation’s largest NFA distributor, is pleased to announce an improvement to the ATF eForm 4 submission process. Until recently, ATF required Individual registrants to complete the eForm 4 “while physically present” at the dealer. Silencer Shop has been in communication with ATF and working hard to remove that instruction. This month, ATF confirmed in writing to Silencer Shop that the instruction would be removed and last week, it was officially deleted. This will significantly streamline the ATF eForm 4 submission process by allowing Individual registrants to certify remotely, rather than having to travel to the dealer’s location.

“A positive experience for the 2A community is our #1 priority,” said Dave Matheny, CEO of Silencer Shop, from the company’s headquarters in Austin, TX. He went on to say, “Suppressors, SBRs: Silencer Shop can facilitate eForm 4s for everything on the NFA and multiple times a day, people talk about how our kiosk makes the process easy. But one thing that they’ve wanted to change is the mandate from the ATF that filing as an Individual requires the consumer to go to the dealer’s place of business and physically complete the application in person. To save this effort for firearms owners throughout the country, we’ve advocated to the ATF to allow these individuals to certify their eForm 4 remotely. The bureau agreed and now stamp collectors can certify their application the same way they order the items on our site: from the comfort of their own home.” Read more

ASA Statement on Draft Rule by U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service

In response to a draft rule published Thursday, June 9, by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service that will prohibit lead fishing tackle on certain National Wildlife Refuges, the American Sportfishing Association released the following statement from Vice President of Government Affairs, Mike Leonard.

“The sportfishing industry usually welcomes the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s (USFWS) periodic announcements to expand fishing access in National Wildlife Refuges, but this new proposed expansion comes with a significant caveat that undermines the good will these announcements usually generate. The entire foundation of USFWS and its management of our fish and wildlife resources is meant to be based on specific data and science, yet the proposed rule would arbitrarily ban lead fishing tackle in several refuges based on unfounded and overgeneralized assumptions.

ASA fully supports science-based conservation and our industry has a long record of making changes and sacrifices for the betterment of the environment. That’s not what we have here. This proposal provides no evidence that lead fishing tackle is harming any specific wildlife populations in the proposed areas. Anglers should have the option of choosing non-lead tackle alternatives, but it is important to recognize that these alternatives generally come with the tradeoff of higher cost or poorer performance. NRA America’s 1st Freedom: First-Person Account From War-Torn Ukraine

Now on A1F.comWhile reporting from war-torn Ukraine, this correspondent saw just how important the Second Amendment is and why we must fight to protect it. While witnessing civilian volunteers getting basic firearm training and then using that knowledge to protect and defend their freedom and country, many Ukrainians actually talked to her about our Second Amendment! This again shows why we must not allow anti-gun politicians to chip away at our constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms.

FPC Letter to U.S. Senate: Closed-Door Gun Control Negotiations

Congress has no power to negotiate away the fundamental rights of its constituents

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) sent a letter today to the United States Senate demanding that the Senators engaged in closed-door gun control negotiations recall their sworn duty to protect and defend the rights of the People, and reverse course in their attempts to destroy our fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

“The Senate is projecting that it can be a moderating force in the negotiations to abrogate the fundamental human liberties of its constituents. This approach ignores that the Senate has no power to negotiate inalienable rights,” reads the letter authored by FPC policy counsel Matthew Larosiere. “As the legislative assault on our fundamental rights–our very humanity–continues, respect for the institutions that craft these policies will erode in tandem. As the People suffer these abuses, facing an increasing threat of state violence and long stints in a government cage, their willingness to comply will also diminish.”

FPC’s letter spotlights the dangerous immorality of attempts to “negotiate” fundamental rights away from the People.
