GW: The only good thing about these destroyers of our indigenous ash hardwoods is that they’ve supplied many with a readily available supply of firewood.

Recently, the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development extended its quarantine in the Upper Peninsula to include Baraga, Dickinson, Marquette and Menominee counties.
This leaves only three counties in the Upper Peninsula – Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon – outside the quarantine zone. In Lower Michigan, all counties are under quarantine with the exception of a few protected islands in the Great Lakes.
The movement of regulated articles, including firewood, from the quarantined counties into Gogebic, Iron or Ontonagon counties is prohibited, unless done so under a valid Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development compliance agreement.
