With the Mini Action, the chamber and bolt are 12% shorter than regular short actions with shorter bolt throw for faster reloads. Weight is also reduced with a shorter bolt. Each Mini Action rifle features a drawn barrel, three position safety and HACT two-stage trigger. The Howa Mini Action Rifle comes with a factory equipped ten round, synthetic detachable magazine. Scoped models come with a Nikko Stirling Panamax 3-9×40 scope that features an extra-wide angle field of view (20% more than comparable optics), red and green illuminated Half Mil Dot reticle and durability suited to heavy recoil rifle calibers.

For 2015 Browning is proud to introduce the Black Label 1911-380 autoloading pistol. This new offering pairs two of John M. Browning’s original inventions — the Model 1911 handgun and the 380 ACP cartridge. The 1911 has been a favorite firearm among shooters for decades and the new 1911-380 keeps with that tradition of innovation and function.

Scaled down to 85% of the size of the original 45 ACP versions, the new single-action Browning 1911-380 is made in the USA and utilizes a precision built composite frame. Criminal charges have been dropped against a Nebraska man whose expensive firearms collection was seized in a case involving a misdemeanor conviction some years ago for carrying a knife that was an eighth-inch too long, and the Second Amendment Foundation was delighted to assist in the effort.

Kevin Williams of Lincoln was prosecuted under a local ordinance, but when the case came to trial, the case was dropped and his firearms were returned, noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb.

“When we learned of this case,” he said, “we couldn’t resist getting involved. When somebody faces losing his firearms collection over an old misdemeanor conviction because he had a knife blade that was a fraction of an inch too long, that just seems silly. Turns out we were right.”

“This wrongful prosecution should never have begun,” noted attorney David Sigale of Glen Allyn, Ill., who took the case for SAF. “We are pleased that Mr. Williams is out of criminal jeopardy, and that the government has relinquished its forfeiture claim on Mr. William’s constitutionally protected property. This is a reminder that the Constitution and Second Amendment apply all throughout Nebraska.” Read more

Oshawa, Ontario – Stoeger Canada with SAKO, Finland deliver the first rifles for the New Ranger Rifle Program to Colt Canada. The SAKO .308 rifle design based on the Tikka Compact Tactical Rifle (CTR) has been selected as the new Ranger Rifle for Canada replacing the Lee Enfield.

These prototype rifles have been delivered to the Rangers and will undergo user trial evaluations from now till the end of 2015. Production of 6500 or more rifles is expected to commence in mid-2016 with a completion mid to end 2018.

The ownership of the intellectual property of the design will remain with SAKO, and Colt Canada will acquire a manufacturing license for the design on behalf of The Government of Canada and the Department of National Defence, under the Munitions Supply Program (MSP).

The Canadian Rangers are a sub-component of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Reserve. They are effectively the military’s eyes and ears in the sparsely settled northern, coastal and isolated areas of Canada that cannot conveniently or economically be covered by other parts of the CAF, providing patrols and detachments for national-security and public-safety missions in these locations.
