The new SBS/SBR rules are as follows:

SBS/SBR weapons that meet the Michigan definition of a pistol are eligible for carry pursuant to a Michigan CPL.

It is still a felony to simply “saw off” a rifle or shotgun with a longer barrel. Read more

Bloomberg Proxy Releases Anti-Gun Manifesto; Proposes to Ban Cartoon Characters and Colors!

The name of U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.) headlines the Kelly Report, a new manifesto identifying a long list of gun control initiatives that anti-gun activists intend to pursue in the near future. However, the document appears to be the handiwork of Michael Bloomberg, whose misleadingly-named Independence USA political action committee contributed $2.1 million to Kelly’s congressional campaign last year. With Bloomberg’s help, Kelly was elected to fill the Chicago-area seat previously held by fellow gun control supporter Jesse Jackson, Jr., who is currently doing time in federal prison. Read more

Russian Sanctions and Guns

374. If I own a Kalashnikov product, is that product blocked by sanctions?  Am I able to resell a Kalashnikov product at a gun show or other secondary market?

If a U.S. person is in possession of a Kalashnikov Concern product that was bought and fully paid for prior to the date of designation (i.e., no payment remains due to Kalashnikov Concern), then that product is not blocked and OFAC sanctions would not prohibit the U.S. person from keeping or selling the product in the secondary market, so long as Kalashnikov Concern has no interest in the transaction.  New transactions by U.S. persons with Kalashnikov Concern are prohibited, however, and any property in which Kalashnikov Concern has an interest is blocked pursuant to OFAC’s designation of Kalashnikov Concern on July 16, 2014.  If a U.S. person has an inventory of Kalashnikov Concern products in which Kalashnikov Concern has an interest (for example, the products are not fully paid for or are being sold on consignment), we advise that U.S. person to contact OFAC for further guidance on handling of the inventory. Magnum Research® Introduces the MLR Ultra 22LR Rimfire Rifle

Pomona, NY – USA based, Magnum Research, Inc. (MRI) has once again expanded their Magnum Lite® rimfire rifle product line with the introduction of the MLR Ultra 22LR with a high-tech modular tensioned-type barrel.

The modular barrel means that it has been constructed utilizing a superior quality of steel for the barrel which is attached to stainless steel breech and muzzle caps inside a thin-walled aluminum construction. The Ultra barrel took over a year to develop internally at Magnum Research and was extensively tested utilizing a variety of ammunition. When tested for accuracy against similarly constructed barrels, the Ultra barrel outshoots them significantly. Part of the reason for this is the patented heat sink located strategically inside the Ultra barrel itself.

The MLR22ATU measures 36-1/8″ in length and weighs just 4 lbs. 8 oz. Barrel length is 18″. Features include 1 in 16 twist, Bentz chamber, ambidextrous thumbhole stock design with a comb designed for scope use, integral Weaver type scope mount base on the receiver, extended magazine release, swivel studs and checkering on the palm swell grip. The length of pull is 13-5/8″. The barrel is black anodized aluminum and has stainless steel breech and muzzle caps. MSRP on the MLR22ATU is $544.00. Read more

House votes to limit DC from enforcing gun laws

Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-Ky.) amendment to the fiscal 2015 Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill passed by a vote of 241-181 and would prohibit funding to enforce its handgun ban and other gun laws.

Of course, the liberals are crying fowl, because their attempts to continue to infringe on the Second Amendment, and therefore, its citizens rights, would not be supported.  Trouble is, it won’t get past the Senate.  Good try, however.
