National Wildlife Refuge Closures Impacts Michigan Facilities
The federal government announced yesterday that all National Wildlife Refuges have been closed and all public access, public programs and fish and wildlife management operations on the refuges have been suspended until the government resumes operations. Government Shutdown and NICS
As of this morning, there was no deal in place to avert the impending government shutdown. In the event of that shutdown, the FBI says their NICS Section is set to remain fully operational and maintain normal business hours. However, the National Shooting Sports Foundation reports the ATF’s Office of Enforcement Programs and Services (EPS) would effectively be shut down, operating with minimal staff.

Coast Guard rescues Michigan hunter, one man still missing
Adrian Knopps of Michigan was stranded and hypothermic when found by the Coast Guard after having killed a bear. Hunting partner Garrett Hagan is still missing and the situation is dire according to authorities. More here…
