Steiner T5Xi Riflescopes Offer Optics for Tactical and Competition Shooting

1-5x24mm

3-15x50mm

5-25x56mm

GREELEY, CO – Steiner, world leader in optics for military and law enforcement, introduces T5Xi precision riflescopes specifically designed for tactical and competitive shooting.

The new T5Xi series features the patented Steiner Never-Lost™ turret with second rotation indication, which shows each mil of elevation through the indication window on the elevation turret. After the first revolution of 120 clicks, the mil numbers on the scale change automatically, preventing the shooter from getting lost on the dial. In addition, the T5Xi’s new SCR™ (Special Competition Reticle), is a clutter-free, precision reticle for extreme long-range shooting. For CQB and 3-gun scenarios, a new, daylight bright 3TR™ reticle features an easy-to-locate center dot and stadia lines to engage targets out to 600 meters. Calibrated in both 5.56 and 7.62, every T5Xi is built with the Steiner quality, performance and reliability standards the United States military has trusted for decades.

“During development we brought in top competitive shooters and tactical instructors to find out what they needed to be more successful,” says Tom Frane, VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. “Shooters and instructors were involved all the way from design to production. The T5Xi is the direct result of their input and refinement.”

The Steiner T5Xi line includes three models, each designed for a specific shooting situation: compact 1-5x24mm, mid-range 3-15x50mm and long-range 5-25x56mm. Read more

$10M Forest Restoration Project to Benefit Imperiled Golden-winged Warbler, Other Species

Washington — A large forest management and habitat conservation effort was announced today by U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack that will target improvements on approximately 64,000 acres of key habitat in the Great Lakes states of Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin with one of the key anticipated outcomes being the avoidance of an Endangered Species Act listing for the imperiled Golden-winged Warbler (GWWA).

This tri-state project is part of a new Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) announced today that includes 100 high-impact projects involving all 50 states. The program will provide more than $370 million for targeted conservation efforts in the states through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

The project is scheduled to begin this year with funding for the program available through 2019. The project will be managed in partnership between NRCS and American Bird Conservancy (ABC) and is complemented by work being conducted on public lands by ABC and its partners with support from the Minnesota OUTDOOR HERITAGE FUND. New experimental duck hunting opportunity in Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service authorized the states of Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan to implement an early teal duck hunting season on a three-year experimental basis beginning in 2014. Teal (blue-winged and green-winged) are migratory birds managed under the authority of the USFWS in cooperation with state wildlife agencies, so decisions are made at a continental or regional level. As a result, the USFWS required the three state wildlife agencies to conduct and report the monitoring of this experimental season as a group. The first-year report is now available, and results demonstrated that hunters focused their harvest on desired teal ducks. Read more

SIG SAUER® Introduces 10mm Elite Performance Ammunition

Newington, NH – SIG SAUER, Inc., designer and manufacturer of the world’s most reliable firearms, accessories, and ammunition, continues to expand its Elite Performance Ammunition line with the introduction of two new 10mm options – a 180gr 10mm Elite Performance V-Crown™ Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) and a 180gr Elite Performance Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) premium target load.

The proprietary SIG V-Crown stacked hollow point bullet design, along with the V-shaped jacket skives, aids in providing controlled, uniform expansion. DUCTA-BRIGHT 7A™ coated brass cases also provide enhanced lubricity, offering superior corrosion resistance, and more reliable feeding and extraction in semi-automatic pistols.
