Johnny Morris, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Fund Cast $400,000 Lifeline to Revive Lake George

Johnny Morris, legendary angler, noted conservationist and Bass Pro Shops founder, recently announced a personal donation of $200,000 to the nonprofit Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), which when added to a $200,000 grant from the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, makes a total donation of $400,000 for the transformative work to restore Lake George.

These announcements, set against the backdrop of the elite competition at the Bassmaster Elite at St. Johns River, come at a critical juncture for Lake George, whose vital aquatic vegetation — a linchpin for the ecosystem and pivotal for prized freshwater fish like the Florida largemouth bass — is under threat. Hurricanes Matthew and Irma significantly damaged the lake’s aquatic vegetation. In response, FWC increased monitoring and restoration efforts to bring back this crucial habitat.

Complemented by a pump action option with the same name, this semi-auto shotgun is available in black, gray, OD green, or flat dark earth. Each color is available in 3-inch 12-gauge, 20-gauge, or 410 caliber, making it suitable for security, law enforcement, or sporting uses.

The Bulltac SA’s 18-inch barrel has a fixed cylinder choke and is chrome-plated and oxidation-resistant. A removable vented front brake and muzzle cap come standard. It’s affixed to a black anodized aircraft aluminum alloy receiver capable of handling all standard shotgun loads. On the barreled action is attached an ergonomically designed forearm and pistol grip for exceptional control while maintaining a 27.75-inch overall length.

The top of the Bulltac SA is a carry handle with integrated, adjustable front and rear iron sights. This carry handle also houses a rail section that can accept an optic of choice and a side rail for lights and accessories. Whitetails Unlimited Grants more than $370,000 in Michigan

Whitetails Unlimited has granted $375,710 to various mission related projects in the state of Michigan over the past fiscal year. More than 130 different organizations received grants pertaining to outdoor education, habitat enhancement, and hunting and shooting sports preservation. This was done in large part with the help of Whitetails Unlimited’s 47 Michigan chapters.

Whitetails Unlimited supports hunter rights and the Second Amendment. Hunting is a wholesome family activity that provides outdoor recreation and healthy food for millions of people. Major initiatives of WTU focus on increasing hunting opportunities and providing outdoor experiences for youth, women, veterans, and those with a disability. Large portions of these funds were granted to several shooting sport groups throughout the state that include funds to offset cost of clay targets, ammo, and safety equipment, as well as well as the purchase of bows for underprivileged youth.
